Over thousands of years, our bodies have evolved to value loneliness as something of a warning signal.   Yet we are increasingly finding ourselves lonely. In face, a 2018 study by the Harvard Business Review found doctors felt the loneliest of all workers. In several studies observing the correlation between isolation, loneliness and burnout in doctors, it was found that the loss of meaningful contact with colleagues and patients meant physicians were feeling lonelier than ever. And these links don’t just affect doctors – 99% of patients believe their doctor’s workplace satisfaction directly impacts the quality of care they receive. It seems this evolutionary tool is blunt, and as such we’re now in what America’s Surgeon General, Dr Vivek Murthy, considers an ‘loneliness epidemic’. So, this #WorldMentalHealthDay, we’re asking: could there be a cure for loneliness? Read more 👉 https://lnkd.in/enFsa5rn

“We save five to 10 minutes per patient. On busy days, we run multiple clinics with several patients, so it just works much faster. Patients only need to spend a moment with us when settling their bill.” Before using Semble Pay, The Mid Ulster Clinic’s payment process was long and arduous. As their previous payment system was separate, it meant processing payments and refunds was a cumbersome, multi-step process, requiring duplication across both their card machine and their internal system. “It was time-consuming. We’d have to go through the card machine manually, enter the service details, and manually input the price. For receipts, we had to manually add the service information as well,” Mid Ulster’s Practice Manager, Ciara McGrath, recalls. With Semble Pay, this manual intervention is minimised, with payments being completed in just a couple of clicks. It makes the process seamless and error-free, so Ciara and her team can help twice as many patients in the same amount of time. “Thanks to the time saved, we can assist two additional patients during their visits, streamlining both appointment bookings and invoice processing. The system has made the clinic more accessible to everyone.” Read Ciara's success story here 👉 https://lnkd.in/eDUNfgRX

Healthcare isn’t one-size-fits-all – and neither should your brand. Inclusivity in healthcare is more than just a buzzword; it’s about recognising and embracing the diverse needs, experiences, and backgrounds of every individual who interacts with your business. At Hertility, Deirdre O'Neill and her team create inclusive reports that shine a light on the inequalities of reproductive care. “If you see it in your practice, in your world, it should be highlighted. “If you aren’t inclusive, the voices of those who are not included will be the loudest, so you need to think about inclusivity in the way you speak in your brand. Here’s why inclusivity should be at the core of your healthcare brand: 🤝 Building trust: Patients are more likely to trust a brand that acknowledges and respects their unique identities. Inclusive branding shows that you see and value them, no matter their age, gender, ethnicity, or abilities. 👩⚕️ Better health outcomes: Inclusivity empowers people to seek the care they need. By creating a welcoming environment, both digitally and physically, you encourage patients from all walks of life to engage with your services, leading to better health outcomes across the board. 🙋♂️ 🙋♀️ Reflecting real communities: Your brand should reflect the diversity of the communities you serve. Representing a wide range of patient experiences through imagery, language, and services ensures that everyone feels represented and understood. Inclusivity in healthcare branding isn’t just the right thing to do—it’s essential for fostering patient trust, improving accessibility, and driving real health change. When it comes to healthcare, the patient experience is evolving rapidly. With more access to information, technology, and personalised care options, patients today have clearer priorities and higher expectations than ever before. From the quality of care to communication with providers, patients are seeking healthcare experiences that align with their personal needs and values. In this blog, we take a look at Private Healthcare Information Network (PHIN)'s latest report into patient confidence and choice, and explore the key priorities that shape patient decision-making. These include: 🤝 Thinking partner, not patient: Participants in the report said they wanted to be treated like a partner instead of a recipient of a consultant’s care; to be included in the process helped build a sense of trust, which is essential to continued care. 👩⚕️ Knowing more about who's caring for them: Patients want reassurance their doctor truly cares about their work. They read reviews, watch videos, and speak to others who’ve undergone similar care. If this information isn’t available, it’s considered off-putting.   🗣 Communication gaps: Many patients feel that better communication—particularly regarding treatment plans and follow-ups—could significantly improve their experience. 🤑 Transparency in cost: Many feel that unexpected bills or unclear pricing structures create unnecessary stress, and would prefer upfront information about the financial aspects of their care. Want to learn more about what today’s patients prioritise when it comes to their care? Take a look at the blog 👉 https://lnkd.in/ecp5KNKy
