"Hey, could you summarise our last 12 months of staff turnover? Oh, and also turn it into a report that I can present to the executive board." Can you imagine being able to ask your HR system that question, and actually getting a comprehensive answer in seconds? It's already possible - and if you don't believe us, you can come and try it for yourself on the 6th or 7th of November, at the CIPD Annual Conference and Exhibition in Manchester. Come and find us at stand C20, where we'll be demonstrating how AI is transforming the way modern workplaces do HR. (Wondering what else is possible with Sense AI, but can't make the show? Just type your question as a comment below, and we'll give you an answer!) #HR #AI

I thought I would do a quick post on how Sense AMI AI can help with day-to-day HR:- Finding answers: HR gets many questions, and AI can quickly find the right answers. Writing letters and policies: AI drafts letters and policies faster, saving time. Summarising info: AI helps pick out key points from big piles of data. Communicating with people: AI can assist HR in tricky conversations with employees. Managing people: AI supports HR decisions by sorting through large amounts of data. AI isn’t taking over HR but making the process easier and faster. If you would like to find out more, feel free to pop sometime into my calendar - https://lnkd.in/ec5kpNZG

What does HR need to know about the new Employment Rights Bill? Amongst other things, here are a few highlights to take note of: - The “end” of zero-hour contracts. OK, so zero-hour contracts are not actually being banned outright. But employers will now need to at least offer contracts that reflect the actual working hours after a 12-week reference period, to give workers more stability. - Parental leave rights from day one. Workers may now take maternity or paternity leave from their first day of employment - but it’s worth noting that employers are not necessarily obliged to pay for this from day one. - Flexible working as a default. Flexible working will become the norm, not the exception - unless, of course, an employer can demonstrate that such arrangement is unreasonable. - The right to switch off. Laws like this have already been used effectively in countries such as France. The new employment rights bill aims to prevent employees being contacted out of hours, except in exceptional circumstances. - Improved minimum wage. The process for setting the National Minimum Wage will be revised, to account for the cost of living and remove discriminatory age bands. The goal is to make compensation fairer across the board. - New statutory probation period. The goal here is to give stability to workers, while giving employers more reassurance to assess the suitability of their new hires. The planned probation period is thought to be nine months. Peter Cheese, CEO of the CIPD, says that he is “pleased to see commitment from Government to engage with the business community to ensure a positive impact for both employers and workers.”
