This Sepsis Awareness Month we are asking you to speak up for sepsis 📣 Please use your voice and take 30 seconds to share your sepsis story with your community. Whether you have experienced sepsis, lost a loved one or work in health care, we want to hear about how sepsis has impacted your life. You could post a video talking about your experience, post a photo of a loved one or share one of our posts with the hashtag #speakupforsepsis Each story shared has the power to change outcomes, and every voice counts in the fight for sepsis awareness. A heartfelt thank you, from the team at Sepsis Research FEAT #speakupforsepsis #speakupagainstsepsis #sepsisstories
About us
Sepsis accounts for 52,000 deaths annually in the UK, that’s more than breast cancer, bowel cancer and prostate cancer put together. Sepsis Research (FEAT) SCO49399 was established to raise funds for sepsis research and awareness campaigns. The charity was set up following the sudden deaths from sepsis of Dr Fiona Agnew and her daughter. FEAT is the UK’s only sepsis research charity. We are registered in Scotland. Our main objective is to stop sepsis through funding research into the early detection of the condition and its treatment. Help us #StopSepsisNow

Paul Dark, Professor of Critical Care at the University of Manchester 🔬 Last year, Sepsis Research FEAT was lucky enough to assist Professor Paul Dark in his UK patient trial, which investigated a new biomarker testing protocol for sepsis. On working with the charity, Professor Dark said: 'It is clear that Sepsis Research FEAT provides a critically important and unique function focused on funding world-leading sepsis research. By supporting them through fund raising activities, you too can contribute to saving lives and improve outcomes for patients with sepsis. I am deeply grateful for all of Sepsis Research FEAT’s charitable work and the meaningful progress we are making together to improve awareness and treatments for sepsis.' Sepsis Research FEAT wanted to take this opportunity to thank Professor Paul Dark for his tremendous support for this charity's work and for his unwavering dedication to improving outcomes for sepsis patients globally. We look forward to further collaboration in future.

Sepsis can strike anyone, at any time. In 2023, Steve Farmer - a fit and active husband, dad, and football coach - suffered a minor leg injury that led to septic shock. Given just a 10% chance of survival, he spent 21 days in a coma, 5 months in hospital, and underwent the amputation of his left leg and the toes of his right foot. Steve is rebuilding his life with incredible resilience. His message: know the signs of sepsis—it could save your life. Climbing Everest for Sepsis Research FEAT This April, John Atkins is embarking on a trek to Everest Base Camp - an incredible challenge that carries deep personal meaning. Nearly a decade ago John lost his dad Mark to sepsis. Mark's sudden death overnight, from an infection that developed into pneumonia and sepsis, changed John's world forever. In memory of his dad, John is raising funds for Sepsis Research FEAT to help prevent others experiencing the same heartbreak. Sepsis can strike fast, but with more awareness and research, we can save lives. Every donation brings us closer to a future where sepsis is no longer a silent killer. If you can, please support this cause. You can find the link to John's JustGiving below 👇 https://lnkd.in/ewWBFRz7 #SepsisResearch #EverestBaseCamp #InMemoryOfDad #StopSepsis
