🌐 Delighted to officially launch the Global Sepsis Innovations Platform #GSIP and to welcome its first 36 Members and Partners from #healthcare, #academic, #civil society and #industry sectors. GSIP intends to address unmet needs in #Sepsis R&D for novel #vaccines, #diagnostics, #AI solutions, #treatment and care, including #antimicrobial and #Immunomodulatory therapies, with special focus on #NeonatalSepsis. We will also work on regulatory recommendations for making #innovations accessible and affordable for almost #50million children, women and men affected by #Sepsis every year. The ESA Annual Meetings are a unique opportunity to discuss with EU stakeholders about sepsis care improvement in Europe and how to reduce its burden via policies and best practices. Do not miss the opportunity to join the 8th Annual Meeting of the European Sepsis Alliance on 19 March at the European Parliament, hosted by ESA Patron Vytenis Andriukaitis. We are honoured by the support of our distinguished speakers, including UNITE Parliamentarians Network for Global Health President Ricardo Baptista Leite, M.D., European Society of Intensive Care Medicine - ESICM President Jan De Waele, sepsis survivor, paralympian and TEDx speaker Shahrzad Kiavash, Global Sepsis Alliance CEO and former deputy Minister of Health of Georgia Mariam Jashi, ESA Chair, Prof. Evangelos Giamarellos and many other prominent figures in the global fight against sepsis. We will discuss the intersection of sepsis with existing health threats and priorities (such as AMR and pandemic preparedness strategies), the role that the European Commission and European agencies (e.g. HERA, ECDC, EMA) must play, we will present best practices, and we will hear from the voice of survivors what are the needs and expectations of patients.
