Seracam’s performance characterisation results have been published for the first time by our academic partners at Loughborough University: “The results of this work clearly demonstrate that for SFOV [small field of view] imaging, Seracam offers the potential to extend the utility of nuclear medicine investigations beyond the restraints of the larger fixed camera systems.” Congratulations to Sarah Bugby and the team on this important publication. We have received great news from our clinical partners running studies using Seracam at the University of Malaya Medical Centre. Dr Aik Hao Ng and his team are reporting encouraging early results using Seracam and have had abstracts accepted on the clinical evaluation of scans using the camera in both small organ imaging and image guided surgery at two prestigious meetings this autumn. We were out on the road again recently with our hybrid gamma-optical camera, Seracam, running a demo for the nuclear medicine team at the Queen's Medical Centre, Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trust.  We very much enjoyed meeting the team and showcasing the benefits of fused real time high-definition hybrid imaging at the patient's bedside. This week marks the start of a project co-funded by Innovate UK to develop Seracam, our hybrid gamma-optical camera, for use in radio guided surgery. Congratulations to the team from Loughborough University for securing this prestigious award. We look forward to working with Dr Sarah Bugby and Andrew Farnworth, who are already familiar with the development of the camera, to demonstrate proof of concept for intraoperative gamma imaging for sentinel lymph node biopsy and cancer diagnosis. Application of the camera in this new setting has the potential to improve patient outcomes and reduce healthcare system costs.
