Clearly we are in the right room today! An incredibly engaged audience this morning as Ecofit director Jonathan Hind talked about our exciting and ambitious Our Sheffield Farm community energy and community wealth building project. Our project with partner Sheffield Renewables is taking off and we’ll be doing lots more talking about it as we transform a Sheffield dairy farm (the locally beloved Our Cow Molly) into a dairy plus energy-producing farm. We’re talking wind, solar and anaerobic digestion. And we’re talking about it being community-owned energy production. Thank you to the North East & Yorkshire Net Zero Hub for funding the feasibility study that has developed our plans – and also for hosting today’s event focused on community energy creation. Not only will we be introduced to potential funders – but we’ll get to learn from regional community peers which let’s face it – will save us money and mistakes (ahem, learning moments.) Read more about our project in our project website or by Googling for our article in the Yorkshire Post (both are linked in the comments but we’re very proud to be newsworthy outside the energy press so it's worth celebrating here.) And if you can teach us anything then get in touch! We’ll share where we’re talking about this next and until then you can watch the video explainer on the project website. Thanks as always to our project partners and our peers working towards net zero in our region and beyond!
