  • Social Entrepreneurs Wellbeing: Shinrin Yoku (Forest Bathing / Mindfulness in Nature) with Helen Todd. Join us for immersive Shinrin Yoku sessions where you'll slow down and fully engage with the woodland environment using all your senses. Scientific research has shown the profound impact of Shinrin Yoku on psychological wellbeing, reducing stress, anxiety, and depression. Originating in Japan in the 1980s, Shinrin Yoku, or forest bathing, was developed to help urbanites cope with the stresses of contemporary living. Through a series of sensory activities, you will be invited to slow down and engage with nature in new ways. Don't miss this opportunity to rejuvenate your mind, body, and spirit. 🌳 The event will be held in Ecclesall Woods. We will meet outside the Discovery Centre and introduce ourselves before undertaking the session. Following the Shinrin Yoku session, there will be chance for reflection, a debrief and networking at the cafe area. ☕ Due to the nature of this event tickets are very limited, please only book a ticket if you are certain you will be attending. 🎟 https://lnkd.in/eMkTzKyN

I'm so grateful for our 12 supporters on Crowdfunder so far. Thanks to you, we're 2% of the way to our goal of £18K. Help us to hit 25% by the end of this month so that we can tell the Quakers that we're on the way to meeting our goal! Some quotes testifying to the power of the work we do: “The workshops are more effective than therapy because they enable me to feel connection and a sense of belonging.” (female, Trinidadian, 46) “The people are very nice. They are more like a family to us. When we cry, they cry with us.” (female, Black South African, 33) “Because of my situation and problems here, most of the time I have stress, but I try to control it by keeping myself busy. I try to reject my emotions like being homesick and missing my family. I try to be patient and strong. But when I attended your class, everything changed. In your class I could feel my feelings. It was my first time in the UK when I could cry in front of other people.” (female, Iranian, 35) “Some relaxing physical activities. Relax through performance.” (male, Chinese, 27)

  • Wow, what an incredible week it’s been! Thank you to everyone who attended, joined the panel discussions, facilitated workshops at the conference. A huge thank you to Manda Scott and Esther Foreman for their inspiring plenaries and contributions towards making the event a success on Tuesday. We've had some fantastic feedback which has us already excited for the next one. Yesterday’s Netwalking event in the Botanical Gardens was an absolute delight. Strolling through the gardens in the sunshine and learning fascinating sustainable details from the Friends of the Botanical Gardens made it a truly memorable experience. 🌞🌿
