Shine School Media Awards

Magazines have always had a very special place in my heart after starting my career at Condé Nast back in the '90s, so it was my great pleasure to be involved in judging the Shine School Media Awards yesterday in the incredible home of The Stationers' Company with a stellar room full of judges. Great to work with you Richard Chapman, Paul Clements and Glenda Cooper. This national competition rewarding UK secondary schools who produce an outstanding newspaper, magazine or multimedia project is a wonderful thing and the quality of the entries was outstanding. It prompted me to dig out The Word, a magazine I helped produce when I was at Merchant Taylors' Schools, Crosby. We were so proud at the time, and I have so many happy memories of it, but how far things have come! Well done to all of the schools who entered this year, I am very much looking forward to the Awards Ceremony in July.
