Our very own Katy Khandeparker is in the running to join the new Confederation of School Trusts Policy Advisory Council. Our world has been transformed since Katy joined SHINE, and policies really are her thing (which is amazing because it's so hard to keep on top of everything and she keeps the team in check). She would be a fantastic person to have on this committee! If you are able to spare a vote for Katy, it would be very welcomed. Smaller MAT's need a say too! https://lnkd.in/e7z5j8z2

It was a privilege to host visitors Alison Smith, Head of Delivery, Supporting Families Programme; Jason Henderson, Regional Relationship Manager (Yorkshire and Humber and West Midlands Regions); Bally Pahal, Strategic Engagement Lead/ West Midlands Regional support; Sally Frost, Finance, Data and Performance and Amna Ali, Family Help Policy Adviser, from the Department for Education, to SHINE Academies on Monday. Led by Suki Baran and Lissie Elliot, Family Services Manager, our visitors explored our innovative family service practices, including the impact to our pupils, and the supportive environment we foster for both learners and educators. It was inspiring to see their enthusiasm and to exchange ideas about how we can create greater opportunities within the service and influence policy makers. A huge thank you to our staff, pupils and supporting Local Authorities, including Mark Heywood, Wolverhampton's Strategic Education Lead for Families First, for their hard work and dedication in showcasing the service and making this visit a success! Your passion truly shines through. We’re excited to continue collaborating and sharing best practices as we strive for continuous improvement. Here’s to building a brighter future together!

Fantastic couple of INSET days at our SHINE schools. Staff are so ready for the new academic year and we have schools filled with staff demonstrating excitement, aspiration and care. Additionally, so many refurbishments and updates of learning environments have happened over the summer, three of our schools are barely recognisable! I walked into Northwood Park with stunned staff yesterday - Headteacher Natalie Boys has an interiors vision that I dream of. The new school values certainly stand out when you walk in! Tomorrow is an exciting day for SHINE starting our 10 year MAT anniversary celebrations. This is first time all of our staff will come together. We are expecting 300 people, with invited guests and speakers including Mark Finnis. A year in the planning and it’s almost here. Can’t wait to share details.

What a year we’ve had at SHINE Academies. One full of growth and opportunity thanks to our amazing team of stakeholders. This week I’ve had the opportunity to visit all of our schools and see Year 6 productions such as We Will Rock You and Matilda, as well as some very emotional leavers assemblies. We have some truly talented staff and pupils! ⭐️ In September we relaunch our values and mission statement, with a huge collaboration of all of our schools staff, plus some new faces ahead of 2024/25 growth and some invited guests. With amazing keynote speakers we intend to think about the ‘why’ and build on our already successful family services and MAT team. In the meantime, we’ll take a break to enjoy summer and be thankful for everything we’ve achieved this year for our pupils and their families. I’m feeling incredibly lucky to have such a dedicated team of professionals to work with. Working in education is the best.

After achieving the prestigious Champion School status, Lisa Rogers and her Villiers Primary School team, attended the Little Wandle conference at the News Building, London, hosted by Harper Collins. Villiers are only the 23rd Little Wandle School to receive this accolade! As well as receiving valuable CPD, they were presented with a book that is gifted to all of their champion schools. Incredibly proud of the achievements of all of the staff and stakeholders involved. The impact on our pupils is considerable!
