    It was full house from our B2B Panel at Re-Imagine Summit last week! 🌐 Our panel, hosted by Chloë Thomas, featured great discussions with Sanjay Patel from Enlighten Smiles, Oliver Cole from The Masters Golf Company, and Paul Tough from STRATAGEMS. Here are the highlights 💫 1️⃣ Pre-Sale Training: Sanjay shared how training customers before the first sale can lead to better sales outcomes. 2️⃣ Customer Segmentation: Oliver explained his approach to vetting and segmenting customers, from assigning sales reps and offering custom pricing to those who need it, to providing self-serve options for others. 3️⃣ Post-Purchase Automation: All agreed that automation—whether through email or dedicated support—is crucial to ongoing sales success. 4️⃣ Defining Customer Tiers: Paul emphasised understanding which customers benefit from tailored experiences versus those suited for a more streamlined, credit-card-only pathway.     Who doesn't love a good comeback story? 😎 UK fashion eTailer, In The Style, was founded a decade ago as a pioneer of social commerce. Launching in Manchester in 2013, the business grew up through the medium of Instagram and was unique (at the time) for their celebrity / influencer collaboration model. As a first-mover in social commerce, In The Style grew rapidly, moved to an IPO, and successfully launched in the UK stock market in 2021. As is oftentimes the case with businesses that grow quickly, In The Style faced growing pains. Combine this with broader supply chain disruptions, high cost of freight, a return of shoppers to brick-and-mortar retail, and a cost-of-living crisis, the company faced declining revenues and was taken private again in an acquisition by private equity investor Baaj Capital, a UK-based firm, in 2023. Now, 16 months into new ownership and under CTO Steven Wood and Managing Director Ben Armstrong's capable leadership (Steven formerly held technical leadership roles at bp and Tesco, while Ben has formerly been on leadership teams at Nike Oakley and Luxottica), In The Style has returned to profitability and continues to roll out new influencer collaborations - launching a 22-piece summer clothing collection into 300 Tesco stores across the UK in June 2024 👀 🇬🇧 🔥 So... How'd they do it? 🤔 🌐🤳 Social media strategy evolution - In The Style recognized consumers' growing desire for a two-way relationship, rather than a transaction. Their marketing strategy underscores social media platforms as search engines, and TikTok and Instagram, specifically, as vehicles for shopping inspiration among their target demographic (they successfully launched weekly TikTok Lives in spring of 2024 with celebrity guest presenters). 📈 🔬Shifted the business epicenter to 'Net Contribution Margin' - In The Style moved away from a focus on top-line sales to a concept of net contribution margin, which is gross margin, net of distribution costs + transaction fees + warehouse costs + marketing fees. Where they don't have margin, they won't spend excessively on marketing and rely more on organic, where they have a greater margin, they can spend more on marketing and paid. 💡 It’s either price or promotion, not both ❌ 🤝 Strategic eCommerce migration to SHOPLINE - CEO of Baaj Capital, Jas Singh with substantial interests and ownership in both physical and pureplay retail, collectively generating a turnover exceeding half a billion pounds, conducted a thorough search for a new platform and tech provider before ultimately landing on SHOPLINE for its seamless multichannel management, open infrastructure, and comprehensive native feature set. The relaunch of In The Style’s omnichannel presence provides a more intuitive + user-friendly shopping interface, regardless of geography or channel. This is a success story Baaj is looking to replicate by adopting SHOPLINE across their portfolio of brands 🥇 #eCommerce #SHOPLINE #partnerships
