Last week, us at Pecs Drag Kings announced the full programme for our Drag King Festival at Shoreditch Town Hall - a day of workshops, panels, masterclasses and a special anniversary show. Many of which are free. This festival marks our 10 year anniversary as a collective. As far as we know, we are the longest running contemporary drag king collective in the UK. We aren't great at acknowledging our impact, but have heard countless times how we have enabled our audiences to explore gender, sexuality and contemporary issues to queer people through our shows, workshops and training. Being 10 years old means we've even met folks who have told us how important Pecs was to them as a teenager. Like many other queer AFAB folks, drag king history is commonly left out of narratives and drag kings are not given the same platform, so I am intensely proud of the loyal audiences and community we've created over these years. Here's to the next 10 years https://lnkd.in/eTfsSftf
