New data centre deal! We’re thrilled to have supported Pure Data Centres (Pure DC) on their agreement with SEGRO to develop and deliver a new £1bn data centre in London. Under the deal, the firms will jointly establish a fully-fitted 56MW data centre on a 10-acre super-prime industrial site in London’s Park Royal. The venture has been welcomed by the UK Government’s Secretary of State for Department of Science, Innovation and Technology (DSIT), who described it as a “powerful endorsement of Britain as a home for tech investment”. Our experienced team provided support to Pure DC on the real estate and real estate tax elements of the deal. They were led by partner and head of UK real estate, Ali Crosthwaite, supported by of counsel Francis Turley (real estate) and partner Nick Cronkshaw (Tax). As we approach the end of March, we reflect on the amazing events and activities we’ve held throughout the month to mark International Women’s Day. ♀️   📍 In Bristol, we organised an engaging discussion on Feminist Leadership with Director Katy Taylor at Bristol Women's Voice, followed by an IWD Fair - full of female-owned businesses and organisations.   📍 In Brussels and Paris, we teamed up and both offices held a breakfast event, accompanied by an engaging online quiz, gifting roses to women in the office and distributing purple ribbons for everyone to wear as a symbol of solidarity and support for women's rights.   📍 In Dublin, we hosted a breakfast event where we were joined by guest speakers, Suzanne Cashin and Sarah Magee from RBC Brewin Dolphin Ireland who provided invaluable insights into financial planning for the future. 📍 In London, we invited Dana Dennis Smith OBE, Founder of the First 100 Years Campaign and Felicity Gerry KC, International King's Counsel and Professor of Legal Practice to our Gender Balance Network meeting. During the meeting, we explored the themes of rights, equality, and empowerment for women and girls. 📍 In Luxembourg, we marked International Women's Day with a unique and artistic twist—a pottery painting workshop in collaboration with The Social Club LU!   📍 In Madrid, we hosted A ‘Women and Art’ event where we were joined by Maria Gimeno, visual artist, and Silvia Herreros de Tejada, writer and screenwriter. Both shared their perspectives on the evolution of female representation in art and literature, the advances made by women creators and the persistent gender gap in these fields.   Finally, virtually we welcomed international panellists Jonathan Hammond, Victoria Grundy, Joanne Elson, Colette Walsh-Jones, and Ombline Ancelin for a Stars skills academy session discussing female career progression.   See some highlights below. 📸 We look forward to continuing to demonstrate our global commitment to fostering equal rights and opportunities for all, not just on International Women's Day, but every day. 👭   #IWD #InternationalWomensDay #EqualRights #GenderBalance #GenderEquality
