Lenna and Gavin attended a Motor Neurone Disease education day organised by QEHB, part of Birmingham’s Queen Elizabeth Hospital. Held at Wolverhampton Science Park, our team enjoyed meeting clinical nurse specialists, occupational therapists, physiotherapists, and many MND healthcare professionals who had a demonstration of our wheelchair accessible vehicle. Lenna Freeman commented, "It was a fantastic event, our WAV was very well received by the the delegates. We are delighted to support an organisation that requires funding to help people affected by Motor Neurone Disease and look forward to working with MND charities in the future". Rebecca has been a Sirus customer for ten years. She tells us about driving and being able to travel upfront as a passenger for the first time. “The independence that my Sirus cars have given me is unbelievable, I wouldn’t be able to do my job without it. Nothing beats being able to get around without having to ask for lifts and relying on people, and we all know how unreliable public transport is! Travelling up front is amazing, chatting with my family and being more involved with conversations as I struggled to hear when sat in the back. I can also take music control duty because it’s my phone that’s connected to my new Apple CarPlay! I have high tech controls fitted and drive using a PARAVAN GmbH system installed by Elap". At Sirus, we value knowledge-sharing, mentoring and helping young people in our community to access their chosen vocation. This week we welcomed Callum, a work experience student from Q3 Academy. Callum worked alongside Roberto and the production team in our stock/stores room. He has learnt how to accept deliveries and check against delivery notes, enter information into our Sage system, stock count and allocate parts to a works order. Well done Callum, great job.
