These designs are engineered to provide a quality product and address the ever increasing demands for energy reduction together with lower carbon emissions. Personal involvement by the Principal Directors and Technical Directors has led to the success of the practice, combined with a genuine understanding of the Client objectives and requirements. Working alongside Purcell Architects, Harsbrook and MBP Structural Engineers, Westgreen carried out an in-depth analysis of an existing late 17th century, oak roof structure. The review resulted in a schedule of repairs and replacements of many structural members with seasoned oak, with a lead time of 6-8 weeks for larger sections used to replace portions of existing trusses and bressummer beams. Westgreen’s site team organised and managed significant temporary works to facilitate specialist carpentry sub-contractors carrying out these repairs.
