🍂 October is drawing to a close, and what a month it has been! Our brilliant engineers have been working hard to refine our system, with trial after trial at locations across the UK. Luckily, it’s all been worth it- last week at Fenswood Farm represented some of our most successful days of flying yet…with perfect weather to boot! The week was all about working with our partners Cambridge Sensoriis and r4Dartech to refine integration of the radar technology that supports PORTAL. As an autonomous launch and landing system, it’s vital that PORTAL monitors space with extreme accuracy- and our innovative setup, and partners’ cutting-edge solutions allow for just that. 🚁 Deployable in under two hours, PORTAL provides a safe, autonomous launch and landing solution for the Future of Flight. #PORTAL #FutureofFlight #Innovation #Trials #Radar

After an intense week of trials focused on reliability, repeatability, and user interface testing, we’re proud to say we’re wrapping things up at Fenswood Farm. The team has worked tirelessly alongside University of Bristol Engineering and Auriga Aerospace Ltd to push the limits and deliver high-quality results despite a few challenges along the way. One unexpected hurdle? The wonderful British weather turned our test site into a swimming pool on Thursday! 🌧 While it was an unexpected twist, the team remained resilient, adapted quickly, and kept the project on track. Huge thanks to everyone involved for their dedication and hard work! 🙌 #Engineering #PORTAL #FutureofFlight #flighttrials

The team are office testing this week, preparing our system before we head out of the office – it’s going to be a busy few weeks of testing for the team! First, we’ll be at Fenswood Farm with pilots from University of Bristol Engineering and Auriga Aerospace Ltd. Next week is all about improving repeatability, reliability and the user interface of our flight demos. The following week we’ll be at Snowdonia Aerospace Centre with Auriga to integrate with new tech. Our third and final week of testing in October will bring us back to Fenswood Farm, where we’ll be testing with Cambridge Sensoriis and r4Dartech to integrate their latest hardware. Be sure to check back next week for updates on our trial progress! #flighttrials #FutureofFlight #engineering #droneflights #innovation

🌍 From “Blind” Flights to BVLOS Operations: A Century of Progress! 🌍 On September 24, 1929, the US' Jimmy Doolittle took the skies by storm, executing the world’s first "blind" flight, relying solely on instruments to take off, fly, and land. This bold achievement marked the dawn of modern aviation safety, proving that technology could guide pilots even when they couldn't see the horizon. Fast forward almost a century into the future, and we’re building on that legacy. At SLiNK-TECH we are pioneering PORTAL, an automated landing system for BVLOS drones—enabling safe, reliable flights beyond the operator's sight. Just as Doolittle showed that flight doesn’t require visual cues, we’re demonstrating that drones can safely navigate and land with precision even in challenging conditions. Innovation has always been about going further, and we’re excited to be leading the way. 🚁 #PORTAL #DroneTechnology #BVLOSDrones #Automation #Innovation #FlightSafety #JimmyDoolittle #BeyondVisualLineOfSight Image: James H.
