On 30th Jan, SMPTE United Kingdom Section presented their annual Young Innovators event, hosted at Sky Studios in London. The event included a hands-on tour for 50 Media Technology focused students of Sky’s cutting edge live facilities as well as science demos of HDR display tech by Sky’s product development team. The evening event for SMPTE UK section was open to all and included fantastic presentations from early-career professionals, Irene Muñoz-López, Amy Woods and Frank Plowman. This was followed by a fireside chat about careers hosted by Chloe Schuil-Brewer and featuring Adrienne Deganutti, Alfie Potter, Ben Foreman and Alfie Mitchell. This event showcased the amazing talent entering our industry and gave them the floor to talk about their work, development, and careers. This is just one example of the many ways in which we have students and early career professionals involved in all areas of SMPTE from Standards to Education and local section meetings.
Events like this are why it’s so important to support SMPTE, become a member, and take advantage of this incredible community of talent.
