We’re excited to share a glimpse into our project for Advanced Housing! This wasn’t your typical renovation. Our team undertook a comprehensive adaptation and extension to create a spacious and accessible home for a resident with full-time carers. Here’s what we delivered in just 20 weeks: Double the Space: Two extensions were added, providing ample room for the resident and their carers. Functional Living: A brand new kitchen diner was installed to facilitate social interaction and meal preparation. Accessibility Focus: Doorways were widened throughout the property for easy maneuvering. A wetroom and sluice room were also constructed to ensure the resident’s individual needs were met. This project was truly collaborative. The new resident participated in weekly viewings and provided valuable input throughout the build process. Their involvement ensured the final product perfectly suited their needs and fostered a comfortable, stimulating environment. We’re proud to have played a part in creating a truly inclusive and inspiring home. The project extends beyond the walls! We can’t wait to share the landscaped exterior with a raised patio, a built-in trampoline for fun, a charming summer house, and secure new fencing and gates. Yesterday I attended the official opening of the Moredon Sporting Hub https://bit.ly/3xQZHS4 which was a professional milestone for me. You work so closely as a team to deliver a shared goal and then, poof! it is all over. Time passes quickly as you move through the various project stages and the best part for me is seeing the project come alive during the construction phase. I feel so proud of what has been achieved and it was my absolute pleasure to lead on this project on behalf of Swindon Borough Council and the funding consortium. With a 12-month build window including what felt like the darkest and wettest winter in years, we completed the project on time and within budget. I would like to acknowledge the commitment of the construction partners, TigerTurf UK Ltd and McArdle Sport Tec Ltd (All Weather Football Pitch), Snape Contracting (the Pavilion) and Spadeoak and Aggregate Industries UK (cycle track, pump track, car park, ground works, utilities and all aspects of public realm). Stephen Gardner from Aggregate Industries gets special mention. We had three contractors working side by side with no main contractor and all partners were sharing a narrow site entrance for deliveries. Steve kept everyone in order and everything moving!

Tim, our instructor, put us through our paces with a variety of scenarios, making sure we're all equipped to handle any situation. He even created a mock vehicle fire – talk about realistic!
