    I believe all public companies should seek to achieve product-market fit so they can satisfy market demand. All companies should ask themselves “are we satisfying potential retail investor’s demand?”. 1; Market research. 2; Value proposition. 3; Build a stock brand with a vision, values, identity, beliefs and a goal. Use focus groups and retail investor surveys. 4; Test different forms of distribution to understand where the target audience (demand) is. Eliminate what doesn’t work and adopt what works. This is a statement I’ve repeated many times and will keep repeating it. A very large number of executives and fund managers agree with me on this.     Two years ago I was 50:50 on launching a company specialising in Retail Investor Relations and Targeting. Sociables Express Ltd A countless number of people advised me against it. But I witnessed the demand growing and there was no company supplying this demand. So I gave it a punt. Now Sociables Express Ltd is one of the fastest growing UK retail investor relations company with clients in the UK, Europe and America. We introduced RIR into the UK IR industry and it worked. We introduced new products never utilised by the industry and they’ve been successful. We’re about to introduce two new products into the industry and the demand for them is through the roof.     This is bang on the money. These influencers don’t work in finance and like Neil said they are problematic. Sociables Express Ltd notified the FCA and ASA of these problems 14 months ago. The FCA and ASA released a guide 👇 but it’s not detailed enough and only covers a small area. Glad they are now clamping down on them. I don’t think the FCA should call them financial influencers because they don’t work in finance. The word Finfluencer was developed to separate influential financial people on social media from the average influencer with no financial experience. Many UK finfluencers are very sophisticated and have a lot of experience in the markets. Some of the best research & analysis I’ve ever seen has come from social media groups and accounts. Many of these type of finfluencers used to work at City funds and banks, some of them still do. They won’t be a problem for the FCA because they understand the rules and regulations. However, they will be a problem for UK listed companies, brokers and fund managers. Why? They have influence over customers, shareholders and public opinion. One negative or positive post with 100,000’s views can trigger money exiting or entering the door within 60 seconds. They can control the narrative on an AIM PLC with no social media presence, resulting in them acquiring influence over execs and possibly the price. They can strategically use social media to scare whoever they target by just publicly pressuring a regulator and politicians over social media. It’s moving so fast we are winessing a slow demand from companies specialising in exposing greenwashing. Shareholder activists are realising finfluencers can be a lucrative friend to them. The list is endless and they can achieve all of it without breaking one rule. London and the FCA isn’t even aware of this. Financial populism and social media are both providing an investor or trader with an edge. We have seen proof of this all over social media during the last 5 days. The rewards from this edge exceed any payment a finfluencer can receive to market an investment. https://lnkd.in/eujPhHtR

Finstagram: The financial element within Instagram. The largesr number of UK retail investors are within these four platforms. Millions of British retail investors all holding hundreds of billions in capital. Listed companies and funds that don’t use FinTwit, FinTok, FinGram and Finstagram will be left behind in the dark ages. Competitors and listed peers that use these platforms will have an advantage.
