For World Mental Health Day 🌍…. I want to spotlight the importance of managing employee well-being within the workplace. 💼🏢 I’m not talking about well-being initiatives like sleep workshops and mental health days – while valuable, I’m talking about the silent killers that live within employee relations matters 🔈 👉🏽A nurse, awaiting the outcome of a professional registration investigation. She cannot work without her PIN. She waits patiently, but the inability to work and earn affects her health and sense of security ⏩An employee, after years of asking for support, submits a grievance against their manager for inappropriate behavior. Submitting that grievance was the last resort, and the lack of a safe environment has diminished their sense of self. 🩹Another employee, who takes pride in their work, faces unrealistic workload demands, slowly eroding their self-worth. These examples aren’t rare. They’re happening to employees across the country. 🗣️ its time to prioritise wellbeing in employee relations matters. I believe we can prioritise human risk management ahead of organisational risk management and still achieve sustainable, positive outcomes for both the organisation and the individual.
