New intelligence from our incident response cases has revealed the Akira ransomware group has started targeting SonicWall SSLVPNs to gain initial access to networks.   This tactic exploits accounts with weak passwords and without Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA), marking a significant shift in Akira's initial access methods.   This change in tactics highlights the critical importance of securing your perimeter defences. On World Humanitarian Day, we turn our attention to the challenges faced by those on the frontlines of global crises. In 2023, 277 aid workers were killed globally – more than double in the previous year, and the worrying trend appears to continue into 2024 with 172 deaths already reported.
