Somerset Passenger Solutions was formed in 2016 as a joint venture between First Group (South West) and JJP Holdings, to serve the passenger transport needs of the Hinkley Point C Project. Since 2016, we have seen huge growth from 40 employees and 8 vehicles increasing to over 400 employees and a growing fleet of vehicles which will increase further as our projects evolve and diversify. We bring together an exceptional mix of people to provide specialist passenger transport solutions and we are dedicated to delivering excellence in all that we do. A team of SPS colleagues visited Secret World Wildlife Rescue this week as part of our local volunteering initiative. Based in Highbridge, Secret World is a rescue centre for orphaned and injured British wildlife. They help over 5,000 animals every year, rehabilitate them and return them to the wild wherever possible. Our team spent the day helping with various gardening and maintenance tasks. Being outdoors doing physical work was a nice change and it was rewarding to contribute to our local wildlife rescue centre whilst spending time with colleagues. Sam conquers Three Peaks to raise money for @younglivesvscancer 🎉✨. SPS Customer Services Lead Supervisor recently completed the three peaks challenge to raise money for a charity close to his heart ❤. In 2019 Sam Ackroyd’s daughter, Isla, was diagnosed with a rare cancerous brain tumour. After extensive treatment, she is “doing amazing” says Sam who was supported by Young Lives vs Cancer 😊. Last Saturday, SPS supported the Hinkley Point Fire and Rescue Service with an onsite training exercise 👨🚒🔥. An SPS double decker vehicle was filled with synthetic smoke which allowed the HPC Fire team to simulate a locate and extract scenario 🚌. The teams enjoyed working together and look forward to the next exercise soon 😊. Red One (Commercial arm of Devon & Somerset Fire & Rescue Authority)
