Security cameras can be used to monitor residents in nursing homes and hospitals, but this raises privacy concerns. Cameras with ToF (Time of Flight) image sensors display people as silhouettes, so monitoring excludes individual identification. This feature can increase flexibility for camera positioning and enhance accuracy for inspections, expanding the applications of SWIR sensing. The 𝐈𝐌𝐗992 has a high resolution of approximately 5.32 megapixels, and the 𝐈𝐌𝐗993 has a high resolution of approximately 3.21 megapixels with a miniature pixel size of 3.45 um. This specification is a widely used specification among general global shutter image sensors compatible for C-mount size, and this is the first SWIR image sensor for industrial use to achieve similar specifications. High-resolution imaging allows even tiny objects to be captured clearly, greatly improving the accuracy of various inspections and measurements using SWIR. #Sonysemicon #SONY #SWIR #SenSWIR

📣 Contents have been updated! 📌 Discover which cameras support EVS Camera list with EVS - Effective pixels: approx. 0.92M pixels (IMX636/646); approx. 0.32M pixels (IMX637/647) - Image size: Type 1/2.5 (IMX636/646); Type 1/4.5 (IMX637/647) - Unit cell size: 4.86μm - Temporal resolution: 1μs 👉 Click here for camera list: https://lnkd.in/d5GCGY3v What is EVS that captures movement? Event-based vision sensors (EVS) mimic human visual mechanisms. As they only record pixels with luminance changes, this enables high-speed, low-latency data output. Leveraging this capability, EVS cameras can be used in a wide range of applications such as tracking people’s movements and monitoring vibrations. 👉 Discover more: https://lnkd.in/dNMTF_aA #Sony #semiconductor #imagesensor #sonysemicon

Sony Semicon (EU) EUTDC go volunteering in the mountains This year Trento in Italy is the European Capital of Volunteering 2024 (Trento, European Volunteering Capital 2024 (https://lnkd.in/d6YjwfpB) and so Sony Semicon (EU) EUTDC in Trento could not miss the opportunity to go volunteering! Sony Semicon (EU) EUTDC is one of the contributors with a seat at the Trento Corporate Volunteering pilot project table. Its goal is to promote corporate volunteering and finding common best practices to share among local companies in Trento. This year Sony Semicon (EU) EUTDC held its volunteering day in the local woods, helping SAT - Società degli Alpinisti Tridentini - Bindesi branch (Tridentine Mountaineers Society) take care of hiking trails in the mountains. We cleared the routes of fallen branches, cut back branches blocking the way, cleared rainwater drainage channels and repainted the red and white international signs (see pictures below) that were missing. More than half of the office participated in this initiative. Colleagues were divided into two groups to cover different routes.  We gathered together in the morning and before starting our day in the woods, we all got a boost with some handmade Italian crostata (jam tart)! Each group was joined by two volunteers from the mountaineering society SAT - Bindesi branch who gave us the proper training and information both before the start and along the way. With brushes, rakes and pickaxes in hand we cleared the mountain paths for hikers and tourists to enjoy. To our amazement we found no trash on the ground (apart from very few pieces of litter), making us believe that there is genuine respect for mountains! This time we stayed quite low in the valley, next time goal is to reach the top of the mountain, at 1738 m! #Sony #semiconductor #imagesensor #sonysemicon

Welcome to join Sony Semicon (EU) EUDC Oslo and Digital team, Imai-san, Taka.  Taka is designing Analog control block. He was exactly the missing last piece I was hoping for in the EUDC Digital Team as Analog control block expert. So, I'm so happy to annouce him as EUDC member. I believe that they will succeed in this new and innovative project together with other Digital members. #Sony #semiconductor #imagesensor #sonysemicon

🔊 Sony is among Platinum Sponsors of the International Conference on Computational Photography (ICCP) which takes place from July 22-24 in Lausanne, Switzerland. Our members from Sony Semicon (EU) in Zürich and Stuttgart together with Sony Semiconductor Japan take the opportunity to demonstrate next generation technology for material recognition with a snap shot hyperspectral camera, 3D reconstruction with a new method for neural radiance fields which utilize polarization information and new motion based features with a RGB-EVS hybrid sensor. Congratulation to Lin Shan from Sony Semicon (EU) Stuttgart Lab 1, Mazen Mel from University of Padua and Saeed Rad from SSS-Europe AVS for your great demonstrations. #Sony #semiconductor #imagesensor #sonysemicon
