Neurodiversity Celebration Week is a great opportunity to see what some of the wonderful organisations supporting our communities are all about. Here's what My Life, My Choice, a self -advocacy organisation run by and for people with learning disabilities say about their life-changing work, it was a privilege to be able to support them with funding from our Revenue Grant funding scheme recently:
“The grant supports us in sustaining our mission of empowering adults with learning disabilities to speak out, fight prejudice, and improve their lives! Every one of the 106 residents stands to benefit from the comprehensive range of activities that we offer, many of which are made possible by our dedicated volunteers. These include self-advocacy groups, travel training, social activities, friendships pairings and the provision of free digital devices and training, alongside a variety of meaningful paid work opportunities.
These activities are proven to have life-changing results, supporting our members to become more independent, reduce their feelings of loneliness and isolation, improve their access to paid work, and increase their ability to advocate for themselves.”
