Southside Family Project
Non-profit Organization Management
Southside helps children, young people and families across Bath & North East Somerset to access care, safety and support
About us
Southside helps children, young people and adults with multiple and complex difficulties to get the care and support they need, so their families enjoy the safety, experiences and opportunities they deserve. Southside works with people whose lives have been damaged by violence, abuse and neglect. More than two thirds of those we support have been victims of domestic abuse, causing emotional and mental ill-health, social isolation, homelessness and debt. Southside Family Project is part of a wider network that helps safeguard children and vulnerable adults, supporting those involved to live happier lives. We work with individuals, their families and other organisations and professionals, so that people can rebuild positive relationships. Southside is easy to reach, easy to engage with and ‘down to earth’. We're delighted to share Southside’s new Annual Review. The theme this year is 'Looking back to look forward', highlighting how we have learned through experience and benefited from the expertise built by people with personal experience of the challenges we tackle - Southside has always had lived experience at our heart, with 'experts by experience' involved throughout our work. The report highlights the work of our amazing team of staff and volunteers, providing in-depth, trauma informed and therapeutic support, direct practical help and crisis support for families dealing with multiple, complex challenges and individuals affected by domestic abuse. The stories, photos and quotations also help to bring Southside’s year in 2023-24 to life. As well as reading about the impact that our support makes to so many lives, we hope the Annual Review will give you a better insight into Southside’s overall work. Please do share any feedback or questions – thank you for taking the time to read our Annual Review. www.south-side.org.uk

Congratulations to our Writhlington Community Hub Group! Helena R. and 'Wednesday Club' families pitched for funding at the Big Local Radstock and Westfield Dragons' Den event, and were voted for by the local community to be awarded a grant for Hot Meals throughout winter at our weekly after-school group. Thanks to all the families who helped with the pitch and planning, some of the children pictured here with Helena and friendly Dragon, Toni Anne Green from BANES 3rd Sector Group (3SG). It was great to meet all the other groups pitching at the event and make connections to work together more. We were so inspired to learn more about so many amazing projects and activities in Radstock and Westfield. #GiveLocally #BigLocal
