Last week, we had the privilege of hosting the BBC Radiophonic Workshop event at Maida Vale Studios. Ahead of the event, BBC News visited to speak with the remaining members of the Workshop for a special feature, shedding light on its groundbreaking contributions to sound and music. It was equally exciting to see our very own BBC Radiophonic Workshop library in action, continuing to inspire creativity. #BBCRadiophonicWorkshop

When we started the original Albion series, our concept was simple, it had to be everything you need to score a film, in one product. Now a best-selling series, each Albion fulfils this promise in a unique way. To continue our Albion Month celebration we've launched 4 Albion-led bundles, including Albion Neo, Albion Tundra, Albion Solstice, and Albion Colossus as the core libraries. Check them out here: https://lnkd.in/eXUpj-uk

We're always blown away by the talent of our community 🎶 Today, we are spotlighting artist Tutara Peak who seamlessly wove techniques from the legendary BBC Radiophonic Workshop, including tape loops, with our BBC Radiophonic Workshop library. A brilliant fusion of past and present. #BBCRadiophonicWorkshop

The Doctor Who Theme, created in 1963 by Ron Grainer and Delia Derbyshire, was a landmark in music history. It was the first TV theme built entirely from electronic sound. Using musique concrète techniques, tape manipulation, and test-tone oscillators, it redefined what was possible in music production. In this video, Spitfire Audio’s Callum McNeill breaks down the original techniques and recreates the iconic theme using our BBC Radiophonic Workshop and BBC Symphony Orchestra libraries. At Spitfire Audio we’re always looking for ways to inspire and celebrate musical creativity, which is why we’ve launched a competition to re-score our epic Albion Colossus trailer! This is an incredible opportunity for composers to showcase their talent and practice writing to picture, and have been a popular addition to our community events since our first scoring competition for HBO's Westworld in 2020. We're joined by award-winning composer, Samuel Sim, who will be helping us select the winners. The four talented runners up, whose scores we will be highlighting on our social channels, will receive a $250 Spitfire Audio gift voucher, and our top prize winner, to be announced on April 21st, will receive our coveted Everything Bundle worth over $31,000. We can't wait to see what our community creates! You can find out more here: https://lnkd.in/erFHq966

We invited a selection of Spitfire Audio friends to discover and test out our latest 'BBC Radiophonic Workshop' library before its release, and were honoured to be joined by composer and BBC Radiophonic Workshop archivist Mark Ayres who shared how their groundbreaking legacy inspired its creation 🎛️ Our guests had a great time experimenting with our new sounds using available workstations and discovering the archive instruments that shaped the product, immersing themselves in the sonic worlds that shaped Doctor Who, The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy, and countless other iconic compositions.
