Puppy power 🐶 At St Catherine's Hospice, we understand that care encompasses more than just medical interventions. That's why we're proud to welcome Molly, our therapy dog, who regularly visits our patients. These visits demonstrate our holistic approach to care. Molly brings comfort, joy and companionship to our patients (and staff!), helping to reduce stress and anxiety while providing unconditional support in a way that only our four-legged friends can. It's remarkable to witness the positive impact these visits have - seeing our patients' faces light up when Molly arrives is truly heartwarming. These moments of connection and joy are an essential part of the comprehensive care we provide at St Catherine's. Sometimes the most powerful medicine comes with a wagging tail 🐾 #SupportStCatherines #TherapyDogs #HospiceCare #HolisticCare

Big news—we're joining forces with the University of Central Lancashire to become a University Hospice. This means more training opportunities for clinical and non-clinical students, plus new research and innovation to improve end-of-life care. It’s all about combining education and expertise to make a real difference for patients with life shortening illnesses and their families. We’re proud to be leading the way: https://lnkd.in/ew3UuARd #HospiceCare #StCatherinesHospice #UCLan

Many happy returns to our wonderful volunteer at The Mill, Dorothy, who celebrated her 80th last week. She started the day with a birthday breakfast at her favourite place, when our staff surprised her with her favourite cake, our very popular strawberry tart 🍓 In the evening she continued the celebrations with a party at the Mill! Congratulations from all of us, Dorothy, and thank you for all you do for St Catherine's 💚

Thanks to Network Rail for their amazing support 🌱 Earlier this month, we welcomed the team from Network Rail for a volunteering morning with our groundskeeper, Marshall. They rolled up their sleeves to help with essential tasks like clearing and chipping, and helped to create wildlife habitats following our Christmas trees donation drive. Their hard work has made a real difference to our gardens, which are such a special part of the hospice. A huge thank you to everyone who took the time to lend a hand – your efforts don’t go unnoticed. If your business or team would like to give back and make an impact in your local community, we’d love to hear from you. There are plenty of ways to get involved and support St Catherine’s Hospice.
