Amazing work from the team at Smith and Byford! In May, a small team from Smith & Byford took on, and conquered Mount Snowdon. 🗻 Last week, they presented us with a cheque for £12,570 that was raised by their incredible team. Our shops are another important way our community kindly supports us. Last month, we were donated a beautiful rocking horse with a lovely connection to the Hospice. 🐎 The horse was made entirely from scratch by Mr Gordon Thompson who was a patient in the Hospice. He made the horse in the mid 1990s and it was a labour of love. He even sourced real horse's hair for the mane. The wood to build the horse came from Champion Timber Merchants in Sutton High Street, so Mr Thompson affectionately named the horse "Champion". Champion went straight to our Wimbledon Village Boutique store where he immediately became centre of attention. On 1 September Champion found his new home and started a new journey. The money raised from Champion will help provide essential services in our Hospice. Join our Retail and Fundraising Teams who will be hosting a vintage stall, promoting charity events and recruiting for new volunteers.💜 This event is a celebration of community spirit, culture and great music. Our full support goes out to the team, patients and community of @StGilesHospice in Lichfield and Sutton Coldfield, which is the latest hospice to announce proposed cuts and staff redundancies as they face unsustainable rising costs. We continue to stand with all hospices in the UK on this devastating issue.
