We were thrilled to collaborate with @comoshambhalaestate in Bali last month, providing the opportunity to bring the true value of Balinese artisans and their incredible weaving skills to life. Our event launched with a Como Conversation between the visionary and enigmatic Janet De Neefe, founder of Ubud Writers festival, and myself, about the importance of sustaining heritage artisanal skills within the communities they originate from. Running alongside this was a series of high level weaving demonstrations from some of our artisan partners, including 4th generation atta grass weaving from Karangasem in East Bali, 7th generation bamboo weaving from Lombok and multi generational leather weaving from Ubud. The week long event included a STELAR Pop Up representing a cross-section of these highly intricate skills, and a series of immersive artisan-led weaving masterclasses that were available exclusively to Comoshambala guests. A special thanks to Gede Suteja and the wonderful Como Team for bringing this shared vision to life, and to everyone who made it along. 🙏 #thisisstelar #madeincommunity #bagswithpurpose #handwoven #artisan #heritage #madeinbali

STELAR is an award winning, purpose-led brand, connecting our customer with the people and skills behind their purchases
About us
We are crowdfunding! STELAR is an accessories brand that is driven by a mission to re-define the concept of luxury, while balancing people, purpose and profit. Working in collaboration with artisan communities to re-imagine ancient weaving techniques, STELAR creates exceptional quality, hand-woven bags and accessories using locally sourced natural, raw materials, designed and made to last. Traceability is at the heart of what we do. Every hand-crafted item is accompanied by a unique digital code, connecting the owner to the origins of their bag and the artisan who created it. By adopting a circular and regenerative approach to our business, we create meaningful and long lasting handcrafted gooy that minimise waste and positively impacts our people and planet. Our brand is built on 4 pillars: • Craftsmanship- re-imagining and developing heritage skills to produce exquisite hand-woven accessories that resonate with a discerning global audience. • Community- re-building artisan communities, providing a flexible and diverse workforce that can easily scale and retool. • Transparency- connecting our customers to the provenance and craftsmanship behind their purchases, tracing our product journey back to the raw materials, and bringing our authentic brand story to life. • Regeneration- using circular design principles, adopting a take-make-replace approach to minimise the human and environmental impact of production and protect our natural environment. We celebrate the art of weaving by creating iconic, trans-seasonal, multi-functional styles that withstand the test of time. We embrace the Balinese spirit of joyfulness in everything we create for our customers to experience through their STELAR purchases. Every item is handcrafted, exquisitely tactile and beautifully refined - combining effortless charm and beauty with sustainable credentials.

Thank you Heveya® for hosting us as part of this unique collaboration to showcase high level artisanal skills.
At Heveya®, we're excited to bring you STELAR Modern Artisan Goods, a brand that truly embodies community, craftsmanship, and sustainability. Founded by Lorna Watson in Bali, STELAR collaborates with talented local artisans to create beautiful, handcrafted bags and accessories, all while preserving traditional weaving skills. It's luxury with purpose, handmade with heart. What's special about STELAR is the unique digital code that comes with each piece. This code connects you directly to the artisan who made your item, creating a sense of transparency and connection. Plus, by working from home in their own communities, these artisans can sustain their livelihoods in a meaningful way. Come visit our showroom this July to explore STELAR's stunning collection and discover the story behind each handcrafted item. It was such a pleasure to collaborate with Heveya Bali on this immersive event, and to witness first hand the level of engagement of our guests in these special artisanal weaving experiences. Thank you Heveya®
Last Friday, 19th of July 2024, we had the pleasure of welcoming STELAR Modern Artisan Goods to our Heveya® Berawa Showroom in Bali for their Weaving Rituals Masterclass. It was an evening filled with tradition, creativity, and a lovely sense of community! Our wonderful guests got to: 🌿 Learn from a talented artisan, discovering weaving techniques that have been cherished through generations. 🌿 Create their very own key charms, making a personal keepsake tied to this rich cultural heritage. 🌿 Experience the magic of weaving as a way to preserve our heritage and express creativity. The evening was made even better with delicious drinks and canapés, creating a warm and welcoming atmosphere. We are so grateful to everyone who came and made the event truly special. Thank you, STELAR, for choosing our space to host this beautiful celebration of tradition. We look forward to more events that bring us together and inspire creativity. Stay tuned for more fun and inspiring events and workshops at Heveya®! #Heveya #WeavingRituals #CulturalHeritage #CommunityEvent #Bali #Handcrafted
