Our latest Business Networking Breakfast will be held on Monday 31st March at the INNSiDE by Meliá Hotels International on Newcastle’s Quayside from 9 – 11am – and we’d love for you to join us! Business Networking with St Oswald's Hospice is a great way to forge new connections, unlock new opportunities and achieve your CSR goals and we have a great speaker for this upcoming event. David Broom is an entrepreneur, storyteller, and business leader with a passion for building brands through the power of storytelling. As the owner of three businesses - B7 | Video Content Agency, a video-first marketing agency; River Birch Newman, a financial planning firm; and Fintegrate, a fintech company transforming the wealth management industry - David thrives on connecting with people and helping businesses grow. David believes in the impact of authentic storytelling, whether in business, marketing, or everyday life. He’s excited to share his insights with you, bringing his experience in entrepreneurship, creativity, and relationship-building to the conversation. We will also be premiering a new video that we created with David’s support – we can’t wait for you to see it. Oh, and did we mention, there will be plenty of refreshments and tasty breakfast treats too! Free tickets are available here 👉 https://lnkd.in/efv3nuEC

We provide outstanding, specialist, expert care and services to adults and children with life-limiting conditions.
About us
We’re a charitable hospice rooted in the North East. We provide outstanding, specialist and expert care to adults and children with life-limiting conditions. We strive to provide Quality time for everyone. We rely on the generosity of local businesses, individuals, groups and companies to enable us to care for local people, when they need us most. We need to raise over £14.5 million each year to be able to continue providing our services. Around £6m of this is provided by statutory authorities such as NHS and local councils to provide our charitable care services. The remaining £8.5 million needs to be raised through voluntary giving. We make no charge to the user for any of our services, ensuring hospice care is available to everyone. We need your help! 🙌 We are planning to launch a new regular giving membership club, which aims to create a community for our very special regular givers. It will aim to bring our supporters closer to the cause and allow them to see how the money they give is making a difference 🥰 To make sure that it offers benefits that our supporters would value and appreciate, we would like to invite you to come along to an in person Focus Group session, which will help us to develop the club. We would be talking you through some of our ideas and asking for your feedback. We can reimburse your travel costs to and from the hospice if required. If you will struggle to get there using your own or public transport, please get in touch and we will try and arrange an alternative. There will also be plenty of refreshments! ☕ The Focus Group will take place at St Oswald’s Hospice, Regent Avenue, Newcastle, NE3 1EE on Thursday 27th March from 1pm – 2.30pm. If you would like to be part of it and help us shape our supporters club, please click this link to register by Monday 17th March 👉 https://lnkd.in/eWNZBtus Thank you 💙 #StOswaldsHospice | #QualityTimeForEveryone | #OpenUpHospiceCare | #CommunitySupport | #RegularGiving | #FocusGroup

Big thanks to Ramsdens Financial Limited for their amazing help this week! 🙌 Several members of the Ramsdens team rolled up their sleeves and got stuck in at our Ouseburn Warehouse, sorting donations and helping to set up a £2 Kilo Sale later that week. 💪 Over in Sunderland the shop team had the helping hands of Lisa for the day, who's support was apparently 'fantastic!'. Corporate volunteers really make a huge difference - thank you again Ramsdens! 💙 If your colleagues or company would like to support St Oswald's Hospice by spending a day in charity retail, get in touch with our Better Together Business Club! 📧 bettertogether@stoswaldsuk.org And don't forget to come along to our upcoming networking event, where you can meet new people, make valuable connections and learn more about how you can support our work. “Since getting the right treatment and support from St Oswald’s Hospice, it feels like I’ve been given a whole new lease on life. I feel stronger, more confident, and in control.” 🥰 For years, Ivanna struggled with Lipoedema, a chronic condition causing painful and abnormal fat build-up, swelling, and mobility issues. Despite being active, doctors dismissed it as simple weight gain 😞 Then, at 19, everything changed. Ivanna was finally diagnosed and referred to St Oswald’s Hospice’s Lymphoedema Service, where we also support patients with Lipoedema. She finally got the care and support she needed. “Getting my diagnosis and treatment has helped me to accept my condition and even embrace it, rather than letting it control my life. “For so long, I thought it was my fault. I hid my legs, avoided PE at school, and missed out on so much. But now, I don’t hide my legs, I wear shorts, I go out and talk openly about my condition to help others.” 💪 Lipoedema is often misunderstood, leaving many people struggling without answers. By sharing Ivanna’s story, we hope to help raise awareness of this condition and the support available. If you found it inspiring or know someone it could help, please share this post 💙 As a charity, all our services are offered free of charge to patients. That’s why we need your support.
