Building strategy-driven brands for Designers, Architects and Photographers | Helping you attract the work you want

How to build a brand that reflects your unique style 1) Define the key principles that guide your work ↳ reflect on your personal style and design philosophy, whether that relates to sustainability, functionality, innovation, or aesthetics. 2) Create a visual identity that reflects your style ↳ once you have clarity on your design philosophy, create a visual identity that embodies it. - If you're a Garden Designer focusing on eco-friendly landscapes, your brand might feature earthy tones and nature-inspired fonts. - If you’re an Architect who specialises in clean, modern designs you might opt for a minimalist logo and neutral colour palette. - If you’re an Interior Designers and lean towards serene, minimalist spaces, a soft, neutral colour palette may suit your brand. - If you’re a Photographer, using visual cues like watermarks will complement your photography style and subtly reinforce your brand. 3) Create a consistent portfolio ↳ ensure your portfolio has high-quality, professional images, as well as a fitting layout and colour scheme that matches the feel of your work. 4) Tell your brand story ↳ letting clients into your world helps them connect with you on a personal level, making them more likely to choose you over competitors. You can do this through a compelling "About" page on your website or through storytelling on social media. 5) Be consistent across all platforms ↳ repetition helps potential clients quickly recognise and remember your brand. Consider creating templates where the colours, fonts and imagery all tie back to your overall aesthetic. This ensures every client interaction with your brand feels cohesive and professional. I hope this helps. Building strategy-driven brands for Designers, Architects and Photographers | Helping you attract the work you want

My 5 biggest struggles as a new creative business owner were: 1) Finding the right clients 2) Managing time effectively 3) Setting competitive pricing 4) Staying creative under pressure 5) Questioning if I was good enough For anyone experiencing similar, here's my advice: - Do your research - Ask other designers what they charge - Use feedback as motivation to improve - Be specific about who your business is for - Allocate specific time slots for different tasks - Focus on a niche and sell the transformation - Do passion projects to build your portfolio - Try to maintain a healthy work-life balance - Prioritise quality over quantity - Communicate the value of your work What else do you struggle with? I’ll see how I can help from my experience. #brandingtips #branddesigner #businesstips #graphicdesigner #creativecareer

Building strategy-driven brands for Designers, Architects and Photographers | Helping you attract the work you want

This is how I write a mission statement in 3 steps: 1) I answer these 3 questions: - Who is the business for? - How do they help their clients? - What does the solution look like? 2) I take out any waffle or industry jargon. ↳ We want clear and simple messaging. I then fill in the gaps: ↳ We create [what you do] for [your ideal client] who [the impact of your work]. Here’s an example: We create [a space of beauty, functionality and comfort] for [busy country homes] to [perfectly match your taste and lifestyle]. It describes what they do, who the business is for and the impact of their work. I do this at the start of every branding project. What do you think? #brandingtips #brandstrategy #personalbranding #personalbrand #creativecareer

I don’t offer logo design as a stand-alone service. Here’s why↓ On the surface a logo does the job but that will only take you so far. If you want to build a reputation, attract opportunities or stand out to the right clients your brand needs depth. Because your brand isn't just a logo, it’s: 1) Your story ↳ What makes you unique and why you do what you do. 2) Your values ↳ The principles that guide your business decisions and creative approach. 3) Your voice ↳ How you communicate with your audience. 4) The client experience ↳ How your customers interact with your brand.
