As advocates of introducing pattern into a space, there are plenty of wall covering options available in the interiors market to suit any budget, and any design brief. At Styled, we like to think of wall coverings as an extension of your furnishings, working hand-in-hand to deliver a cohesive look. Try not to think of selecting materials for your brief as a headache but, see the opportunity to explore different options, styles and have fun creating a scheme piece by piece. If you're struggling to envision the full scheme, we recommend finding a base colour as a starting point, gradually building from this by thinking of what feeling you want to create in the space which will help you to select the appropriate materials for finishes. When it comes to the finishing touches, it's crucial to take as much care and consideration with these details as it is the main design elements. Selecting the wrong finishing items can be detrimental to the final impact of your design, often taking away from the initial aims of the brief. We recommend referring back to your original ideas (whether that's a moodboard, mind map or a few simple notes you've jotted down), and selecting two or three starting pieces that catch your eye and seeing where these could feature in your scheme. Say hello to Graham House.. 😍👋🏻 Refreshingly minimalist, Graham House is a characterful property located in the quaint village of Osmotherley, North Yorkshire. Pulling together a scheme that would be respectful to the style of the property, it's surrounding location and, suitable for a wide variety of Host & Stay guests, this project offered the opportunity for the Styled team to have a little more creative freedom on the overall look 👀 A much trickier property to complete the installation on, the older age of this property proved to cause the team some challenges due to narrow hallways and passages as well as, complex stairwells. Due to the challenges presented with the layout of the property, the Styled team had to consider the sizing and practicality of specified furnishings to ensure a seamless installation. Using a light and cool-toned colour palette throughout the design, rich tones of mustard yellow, navy blue and gold accents in the fixed details, help to lift the design to create a warm and inviting atmosphere in a minimalistic approach 💡 A harmonious blend of contemporary vs period styles in the furnishing design, compliment the natural characteristics of this older property, with a focus on capturing a luxurious environment on every level. ⚡️ INSPO OF THE WEEK ⚡️ COAT Paints x Stacey Dooley collab is here and we are in LOVE 😍 Described as creating her "home-for-life", the recent collaboration between Coat Paints and popular television presenter Stacey Dooley, is the perfect example of how adding personal context into our spaces can elevate our interiors. Colours of the collab 'King Kev', 'Minnie D' and 'Stage Door', add heart into the home for Stacey through personal connections to her life, captured immaculately in the photography of her family home. We are just obsessed with the play on colour used in her dining room to accentuate the height of the space; using the darker of the green shades 'King Kev' used to coat the ceilings and 'Minnie D' as the contrasting lighter shade to dress the walls. Daring and dramatic, 'Stage Door', a red shade rich in colour and spirit, adds subtle elegance to Stacey's hallway with reference to her career achievements. The use of this colour on the ornate spindles of the stairs supports one of our favourite ways to add colour delicately into a space, breaking down the barriers of "colour-fear" that can often limit the full potential of interior design 💡 As interior designers, one of our favourite aspects of our day-to-day here at Styled is the collaborative relationship we build with our clients through their project. Say hello to Toffee Crackle House 😍👋🏻 One of our many designed properties available to book with Host & Stay, Toffee Crackle House offers warm, light and calming interiors for this coastal accommodation in Staithes 🌊 With challenging smaller spaces, maximising the light flow in the main living areas was key in creating an inviting feel for guests to enjoy socialising during their stay.
