Accessing bereavement counselling is often inaccessible and unaffordable. Applicants to our counselling service are growing every week and now is when we need your support the most. Can you afford to give £30 a month to make a difference to someone who has lost a loved one to suicide? If you can, you'd make a world of difference to someone who is navigating suicide grief. Set up a direct debit to donate £30 for 12 months to support someone through a full package of counselling sessions (12 sessions = 1 package). Let's work together to open the conversation. Please share this with your networks. Click here to donate now https://lnkd.in/dwy9gTt #charityfundraising #metalhealth #charitysupport #bereavementsupport #suicideloss #support #charity #donate

Today our team spent the morning at Zscaler's London Office, where 25 incredible individuals took on our 34k Challenge using stationary exercise bikes! The morning included a thrilling 6 person race to 34km, followed by two teams competing in a relay to reach 34km. A huge thank you to our Ambassador Taran Randhawa for organising the event, alongside Brian Marvin and Avril Ives. The energy in the Zscaler office was electric and we are so grateful to be supported by this brilliant company through such a fun imaginative event! Check out this brilliant session we are partnering with Everymind at Work on next month!
Ahead of World Suicide Prevention Day (10th September), we're inviting all People professionals and their MHFA & Champion networks to join us and take action. We're hosting a free session, in collaboration with Suicide&Co, to provide practical guidance on how to support a colleague through suicide grief. Together, we'll explore: 👉 Do’s and Don’ts: Learn the most common mistakes individuals make, why language is key and how to approach different scenarios. 👉 Starting the conversation: Learn how to break the silence and use contextualising questions whilst taking an empathetic approach. 👉 The role of HR, MHFAs and Managers: Understand the critical role that each of us take in supporting someone through the grief of suicide loss. 👉 Practical examples: Hear real-life examples that demonstrate effective ways to support someone who’s grieving. To join the session, please sign up using the link in the comments 💙 #freetraining #grief #workplacewellbeing

Straight-talking heart-led Suicide Prevention trainer since 2015 ▶️ Multi-award-winning Project Lead ▶️ Counsellor ▶️ Mum ▶️ Courageous conversations that matter guided by compassion, clarity, connection & collaboration.
And now for something completely different! 🎬 This week, I've hung up my trainer hat* to work on a FILM SET, behind the scenes (or "BTS" - I'm learning the lingo!) My role is to provide Psychological Safety for the 40 cast and crew, including two phenomenal lead actors, alongside my team mate and legend Sharon Burrell GMBPsS How did I get here? A few months ago, an extraordinary young man called Harry Richards messaged me. He was soon to direct a short film called CONTACT HOURS, written by Rufus Love. Would I read the draft script? Could I help support in any way? Erm, obviously: YES and YES! I met with them immediately, and invited Hema P. to join too. Rufus's script blew me away. It's poignant, sensitive, powerful. It's about a university caretaker who discovers a student who has taken their own life. It's about a conversation that follows. Importantly, it's HOPEFUL. At film festivals and through a tour of UK universities, I believe this film will start further life-saving conversations. And it needs to. In the UK, a university student dies by suicide every four days. Between them, Harry and Rufus lost SIX friends to suicide while at university. This is going to be a short film with a lot of HEART. Right from the start, they have engaged folks from: ForThe100 Samaritans PAPYRUS Prevention of Young Suicide Suicide&Co and many more As part of their research, Harry and Rufus even took two days to attend a LivingWorks ASIST workshop I delivered with Rachel van Hoven. And now here we all are! In the heat of the Hertfordshire sun yesterday and working late into last night. We shot from 5pm until almost 3am 😳 - everyone SUCH a pro at their role. I'm learning so much! We're told today's shoot won't be quite so late. In the comments: Insta links to the film and our key actors, if you'd like to follow along, or if you can support in any way eg with distribution, the UK university tour etc * Sam Thomas, different hats always, right?!🧢🎩👒 #suicideprevention #psychologicalsafety #wellbeing #onset #action #thatsawrap
