We were recently featured as a case study for the Yorkshire and Humber Climate Commission, sharing insight to inspire other organisations on their sustainability journeys to go further and faster on nature and climate action across Yorkshire and the Humber. Earlier this month, our sustainability coordinator Ben attended the Co-operatives UK, Co-op retail conference over in Nottingham. He sat on the panel, hosted by Laura Adams (Grain Sustainability), alongside Pete Westall (The Midcounties Co-operative), Jeremy Cox (Coventry Building Society), Tanya Noon (Central Co-op) and Russell Gill (Co-op). The session discussed the power of co-operatives in achieving the UN Sustainable Development Goals - as ever more relevant now it’s the UN International Year of Co-operatives! Ben says: "It was a pleasure to speak to an audience full of other great co-ops on the ways co-operatives can work towards fulfilling the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The co-operative movement is very aligned with the principles of the global goals and it was pleasing to hear how other co-ops are making progress and aligning their strategies with the SDGs."
