📣 Steps Challenge Success! 🏃♀️🌳 At Survey Solutions, our "WE CARE" value prioritises the well-being of our employees, teams, and communities. To celebrate Mental Health Awareness Week and Global Health and Fitness Month in May, we held our third annual Steps Challenge. Our team collectively achieved an amazing 7,769,888 steps through walks, runs, and hikes! Our utility survey team from London worked with RPP as part of an ongoing planning application to develop the Lakeside Retail Park for a multi-million pound warehouse and distribution centre. The data will be used to inform the prospective design stage of the project. The roads that needed surveying were multi-lane with heavy traffic and implementing traffic management systems was not a viable option. Our solution to this challenge was to utilise GPR technology mounted onto a vehicle. This enabled us to survey the roads safely and all during one visit which we completed at night to minimise any further disruption. During the survey, our teams also discovered the presence of rebar mesh under the tarmac. This insight was useful information for the project team for any potential excavation work. Great to see the sun finally come out this week. I took the opportunity to grab some stunning photos of my latest site. Working on a coastal survey in Penmaenmawr has definitely made it onto the list as one of the most challenging sites, mainly due to the terrain and therefore it has been one of the most rewarding to complete.
