By the numbers: The Back-to-School slowdown. Ahead of the busiest season for online shopping, we looked at the facts and the figures used to project what’s next. As it turns out, retailers may be slowing down slightly overall, but ecommerce is still winning the back-to-school sale season. In 2024, EMARKETER predicts ecommerce will account for nearly 35% of all back-to-school sales. As one of the year’s most significant shopping events ahead of the holidays, this season of Summer sales is showing an uptick in mobile shopping, among other trends, that are likely to move into the holiday.
