Tata Chemicals Europe Limited is a wholly owned subsidiary of Tata Chemicals Limited and was established as Brunner Mond and Company in 1874. It was founding company of Imperial Chemical Industries (ICI) at its formation in 1926. Tata Chemicals Europe also includes British Salt Limited which produces salt for, amongst other things, food, animal feed and water softening at its operations in Middlewich, and Winnington CHP Limited, which owns the CHP plant referred to above.

To celebrate National Pensions Week (9th – 15th September) we welcomed Aviva along to hold some of our regular financial awareness sessions. The sessions are aimed at empowering our employees with knowledge to be able to manage and understand their own pension plan. We have always worked to ensure that our teams are well informed about pensions and have always supported our employees to fully utilise the myAviva app.

Introducing the British Salt Limited breakout garden! Ok, it doesn’t look like much at the moment but the team at British Salt Limited and Year 6 teacher Kate Marsland have big plans for this space at Cledford Primary School. The space will be a quiet spot in nature for the kids to enjoy, complete with reading shed, wildlife area and sensory pathway. Thank you to adss ltd for lending us hand to prep the foundations – we're really grateful to you! Watch this space 👀

We are passionate about inspiring the next generation of engineers, scientists and manufacturers, so when we were approached by Science Museum Group to be a part of their educational series of videos, we leapt at the opportunity.     Keep your eyes peeled for our CCU which features as part of their episode on carbon capture. We caught up with Charlotte after her trip to Kenya. The local schoolgirl raised funds for projects over there by creating bath bombs out of our sodium bicarbonate.    From helping set up camera traps to track the movement of animals to fitting lion deterrent lights for the Wildlife Foundation to helping with a turtle conservation project, Charlotte got hands on with so many different projects. She also enjoyed a community-based project, painting classrooms, resurfacing floors and even getting some Swahili lessons.    Welcome back Charlotte, amazing work 👏

Our annual photography competition is back📸    We are putting out a company-wide call out for amateur photographers to dust off their cameras for another year. This year's theme? Celebrating the colour of life.    A panel of our employees will decide on the top 12 photos, and these will go to make up our annual TCE calendar.

🚴♂️ Introducing Elliot, one of the incredible riders taking part in our upcoming Giraffe to Giraffe Cycle Ride for Childhood Cancer Awareness Month! 🎗️ "In 2009, when I was 8, I lost my 6-year-old sister to Burkitt’s Lymphoma. It happened so suddenly that I didn’t fully understand why my sister died. I lost my best friend, my playmate, my school bus buddy—my only sister. The Joshua Tree helped me through therapy, allowing me to talk about my worries, fears, and doubts. Most importantly, they’ve shown me I’m not alone. TJT has been a safe place for me to talk freely, honestly, and to be heard. 💛 When I heard about the ride, I knew it would be tough mentally. But riding alongside a group of people, all wanting to give a little back for the help and support we've received, seemed like an amazing idea. I’m the youngest rider of the group, and this will be my second cycle fundraiser for The Joshua Tree. I’m not a regular cyclist, so this will definitely be a tough ride—but I’m looking forward to the challenge! I think Day 2 will be tough physically, but I’m ready!" ---------------- By cycling together as a team, our riders show the power of community and support during challenging times. With personal experiences of childhood cancers driving their journey, they unite to showcase the impactful community spirit fostered by The Joshua Tree. Join us in this meaningful cause: 🔗 Donate & Support Elliot here: https://bit.ly/4cZmIRu 📢 Spread the Word: Share our posts, tag friends, and help us raise awareness. Let’s cheer on Elliot and all our riders as they embark on this meaningful challenge! 🙌💪 Thank you to our headline sponsors, @Creamline and @simplelifehomes Further thank you to Kanaval Consultancy , @EverythingElearning, @vetoquinol_uk and @TATA for their sponsorship. 💚 #GiraffeToGiraffe #JoshuaTreeChallenge #ChildhoodCancerAwarenessMonth #CCAM #G2G #ToughRide #TeamEffort #SupportAndStrength

Learning and earning isn’t always easy, but our apprentices have proven otherwise! All five have successfully passed their end point assessment, some with distinctions, and completed their apprenticeships. Last August, Luke Wall from the CCU, Ellis Beech from the HV team at Lostock and Harrison Austin from the CE team in Middlewich all passed their Level 3 maintenance and operations engineering apprenticeship with Warrington College with flying colours. William Belmore, Jake Bradley and Cameron Senior started with us back in August 2021 as process operator apprentices. Due to Covid and delays in arranging their end point assessments, all three based at Lostock, passed their Level 3 science manufacturing technician apprenticeship with Cogent Skills. This picture of them with our Technical Training Manager, Graham Robinson, was taken on the same day that Graham passed his back in 1967! Pictured L to R - Cameron Senior, Will Belmore, Jake Bradley In June, we welcomed our 2 engineering apprentices from TTE. They spent 3 weeks at our Middlewich and Winnington plants learning the ropes. They enjoyed taking part in routine tasks and seeing the theory they cover at TTE put into practice and look forward to returning to the plants in Phase 2 of their apprenticeship. Pictured L to R - Pete Edwards, Will Wakefield, John Vaughn and Darran Parker Finally, over in our customer service team, Jacob Delaney achieved his Level 4 sales executive apprenticeship with Pareto in June. A massive well done on an amazing achievement! We look forward to seeing them grow and develop further in their careers at TCE!
