Small Town, Big Dreams
Hailing from the historic city of Ujjain in Madhya Pradesh, Ashita Malhotra’s journey is a testament to her ambition and determination. Born and raised in her hometown, Ashita's career dreams took her across various cities. Reflecting on her early years, she shares, “Back then, Ujjain was a charming but relatively smaller town with limited learning institutes, which made me move cities.”
Her career took off when she secured a position at one of the Big Four consulting firms in Mumbai. Her hard work was evident as she navigated various roles, eventually moving to another consulting firm in Ahmedabad for three years. Since joining Tata Chemicals in December 2019, Ashita has found a supportive environment that has fostered her growth and learning. "I've learned so much here," Ashita beams, "multitasking, prioritising, even handling litigation independently!"
Balancing a demanding career with personal life is another of Ashita's achievements. Married to her childhood friend, she seamlessly blends professional aspirations with family commitments. Her husband's unwavering support and their strong bond have been crucial in her journey. Motherhood brought a new chapter. "Prioritisation and setting boundaries became crucial," she emphasizes.
Ashita admires the younger generation's ability to prioritise and find work-life balance, a skill Ashita believes is essential in today's world. Her advice? Maintain that balance, live in the moment, and value both professional and personal pursuits!
Ashita's hobbies mirror her dynamic personality. From a passionate painter in her youth, she now cherishes her daily ‘me-time’. Travelling is a must – at least 1-2 vacations every year to unwind and explore new places.
Ashita's story is a beautiful reminder: with dedication, adaptability, and a supportive network, we can create a life rich with both professional fulfilment and personal joy.
