💊 I can't help but feel optimistic about the biotech industry next year.... There is no denying it has been a really tough 18 months for the industry, but I've started writing my business plan for next year and I'm being filled with optimism. Here's my 2 pence on why.... 2020/2021 was an incredible year, but you could argue there was "over investment" into the industry, record breaking series A that were making redundancies a year later etc. That created a far more cautious approach to investment and throw in the global economic climate and fundraising or IPO's became near on impossible for early stage biotech (regardless of the quality of data). I heard a stat somewhere that the amount of money invested into the industry in 2023 wasn't too dissimilar to 2020 however, it was all going to Series C, which shows the risk aversion to investment. But don't quote me on that. So why am I now optimistic about next year?... Firstly, as recruiters call it - the "job flow" is increasing - this is the amount of roles a recruiter is working on at any given time. Showing a steady increase into the appetite to hire. Secondly, the financial market in the industry continues to bounce back. IPO’s increased in Q1 2024 with $3.72b raised, which is more than 6 times that of Q4 2023, and higher than every other quarter in 2023. The total IPO amount raised in 2023 was $4.4b, compared to a high of $30.8b in 2020. Thirdly, the federal rate cut which is the first in 4 years (see a trend here?). This will play a major part in the economical landscape for the industry. I'll be interested to see the investment figures over Q4 this year, but 2024 is already better than 2023. What are your thoughts/outlook for 2025?

👉 Over the last four years, FDA drug inspections have seen a noticeable decline.   𝗕𝘂𝘁 𝘁𝗵𝗮𝘁’𝘀 𝗮𝗯𝗼𝘂𝘁 𝘁𝗼 𝗰𝗵𝗮𝗻𝗴𝗲.! In 2023, the FDA launched a hiring initiative to onboard more CSOs and Investigators. They’re now gearing up to begin inspections, targeting facilities based on the FDA’s ICHQ9/FMEA QRM model.   Companies with higher non-compliance risk factors will be prioritised, and the algorithm will guide inspectors on where to focus their efforts. These inspections are on the horizon—are you prepared?   Feel free to contact our expert Tim Walker at TGI Life Sciences if you need help hiring experienced Auditors or ex-FDA Inspectors.   #FDA #Compliance #GMP
