Our members' Annual Reports are a great way to find out more about what Public Health teams do to help improve and protect the health of residents ⬇
‘Work and Health’ is the focus of my Director of Public Health Annual Report 23/34. Have a read 👀 👇 This looks at the interplay between our health, employment, and the economy at a local level. #cornwall #IslesOfScilly A healthier population = healthier local economy. ‼️Economic growth will benefit health and well-being if it is ‘good’ growth - sustainable and inclusive for all. The report explores #GoodGrowth - creating good quality jobs, safe secure employment, with decent pay. #HealthyWorkplace People in supported employment describe what work means to them. The report informed our Council’s new #GoodGrowthStrategy and supports our #WorkWell Strategic Partnership, and role of our local #AnchorInstitutions https://lnkd.in/gWhnUu4p UCL Institute of Health Equity The Association Of Directors of Public Health (UK) Cornwall Council Cornwall & Isles of Scilly Growth Hub Council of the Isles of Scilly NHS Cornwall and Isles of Scilly

Who will be walking away with the Public Health award at the LGC Awards 2025? Local government’s role in public health presents a major opportunity for councils and their partners to protect and improve the health and wellbeing of their local communities. The impact of social determinants of health on health inequalities was tragically highlighted during the pandemic but the development of integrated care systems with their stated focus on population health could present an opportunity for more wide ranging action. Entries are likely to focus on the development of evidence-based solutions to reduce health inequalities, the impact of the work in question such as better health and wellbeing, and (potentially) how the totality of the council’s work is helping to achieve the objectives in question. This award is intended to recognise the councils that are making the most of their role in public health. View the complete criteria for entering here https://lnkd.in/eJXiZi7i **Enter with just 1,000 words telling us why you should be a winner** Register here https://lnkd.in/ehakhy_s in just a few seconds and submit your entry by 13 December.
