In 2021, The Body Shop India committed to amplifying our nation's incredible young people. We partnered with Young India Foundation (YIF) to launch #Why25 - a grassroots initiative aimed at bringing more youth into India’s public life. As a leader, I truly believe in having young voices at every table. So in 2023, we also launched a Youth Collective consisting of young changemakers who advise me on how to make our organization more inclusive and representative of young people. Fast forward to National Youth Day 2024 last week, I am proud of the progress we’ve made at The Body Shop India! - Our #Why25 petition to lower the candidacy age in the Lok Sabha from 25 to 21 has so far amassed 1.5 MILLION signatures. - Through hundreds of campus activations and policymaker partnerships, we have helped 10 MILLION 1st time young voters to register for voting in the upcoming elections. - Guided by our Youth Collective, we announced our commitments to drive inclusion on all fronts - gender & orientation positive sensitization and leadership; Braille rollout to enhance in-store experiences for the visually challenged & authentic diversity in marketing. To round up the week, we proudly supported YIF’s Under30 Youth Conclave where I had the privilege to felicitate their inspiring ‘Under30 Young Leaders’ list. The energy in that room was pure magic – a testament to the power of young minds!
