🔴 🟠 🟢 Today we have launched the 𝐆𝐫𝐞𝐞𝐧𝐳𝐨𝐧𝐞 𝐂𝐡𝐞𝐜𝐤𝐥𝐢𝐬𝐭 to help farmers and farm businesses review some of the common components of business and personal resilience – helping them to identify strengths and highlight areas where additional information or support may be beneficial: https://lnkd.in/epWsXZGa The Greenzone Checklist is available to download from FCN’s FarmWell website and contains helpful information around a wide array of topics relating to business, health, forward-planning and community connections. Users can download or print off the checklist and examine which areas are ‘in hand’ and where they might benefit from investigating further. Topics include partnership agreements, business objectives, work-life balance, diet and exercise, succession planning and links with local communities. Dr Jude McCann, FCN's Chief Executive Officer, said: “Since launch, FarmWell has supported thousands of farmers in exploring their options and planning ahead. We are delighted to now be launching the Greenzone Checklist through FarmWell, which is an easy-to-use way of assessing what’s going well on the farm, and areas that might be beneficial to explore further. This is part of FCN’s proactive work to support farmers’ health, wellbeing and business resilience and to help people to explore their options.” A farmer who utilised the checklist with their family members said: “What a fantastic tool that puts you back on track with a list of things you can to do to alleviate a lot of stress. It’s a well-oiled key to unlock a sometimes very rusty and stubborn box!” 👉 Read more on the FCN website here: https://lnkd.in/e2H8kX7g #farminghelp #farminglife #backbritishfarming #farmwell #farming #agriculture #businessplanning #successionplanning

What a first three months! An absolutely cracking start to my time at Strutt & Parker. I have settled in to a brilliant team of people at the Cotswold Consultancy and have been given such a wide range of work. From securing tenants for a beautiful country farmhouse with Lucy Hawkins and Emily Kirby, to travelling the country with Edward Lattimer acting for a large national client, only to name a couple. Saying we've been busy would be an understatement. With my graduation from Royal Agricultural University next week and APC enrolment knocking on the door, a jam packed autumn is surely on its way! Thankyou Lucy Hawkins for organising a lovely charity quiz last night, in aid of such an influencial charity in the Ag sector The Farming Community Network Hannah Bloxham Andrea Plant

We’d like to wish a very happy #BackBritishFarmingDay to British farmers and growers, all those who work in the industry, and all those who work to support the industry. We back you 100%, and will continue to offer support during difficult times, and champion and celebrate everything that’s wonderful about our farming communities. Everyone in the FCN team - our fantastic volunteers, staff, and trustees - has a connection to agriculture. Some are farmers, or from farming families. Others have worked in the sector or in roles that support farming businesses. We understand the value of the people that produce British food and look after the countryside. It’s a tough job, but one of the best. Thank you to everyone who demands quality and buys British food. Keep backing British farming wherever and whenever you can. NFU (National Farmers' Union)

Graham Ashford and Leslie are Backing British Farming at UKDairyDay in Telford. Congratulations to the UK Dairy Day team on the 10th anniversary of this event! You'll find FCN upstairs, next to the HAU stand (if they're not with the cows), where you can find out more about how we support British farmers, and the work we're doing in partnership with Macmillan Cancer Support to reach people affected by cancer in farming and rural communities. #BackBritishFarmingDay

With only one day to go until our free in-person event with University of Exeter, the countdown is on. If the UK wants to retain resilient food and farming systems, which can deal with the demands of a changing climate and technological innovation, we need farming communities and rural communities which are healthy and sustainable. A steep rise in mental health problems within rural parts of the country, exacerbated by reduced access to support services, could be the biggest barrier. Our panel will unpack these challenges and identify the policy solutions which need to be put in place. This event will see contributions from farmer and former NFU President Baroness Minette Batters (event chair), Professor Matt Lobley and Dr Becca Wheeler of the University of Exeter, and farmer, consultant and The Farming Community Network (FCN) volunteer Christine Malseed. Event attendees are invited to join a panel discussion, followed by audience Q&A and a networking drinks reception. 📅 11 September 2024 ⏰ 7pm-9.30pm 📍 University of Exeter, Amory Building Don’t miss out, register now ➡ https://lnkd.in/e-ugDCKa #socialscience #policy #farming #mentalhealth
