TECH 𝐒𝐄𝐎 𝐖𝐑𝐈𝐓𝐄𝐑 | Helping Tech Brands Tell Their Unique Stories by Crafting Compelling Content that Drives Growth, Conversions, and Industry Expertise | Agricultural Engineer Graduate
📌 One of my favourite mentorship sessions So far🤗 The second part of my 4th Tech SEO mentorship session (26/10/2024) with Mr. Sodiq A. was on brand building. As a techie, you know the space is competitive, and brand building differentiates you from the crowd. Emphasis was placed on having; 🔹Professional website 🔹 Portfolio 🔹Social media presence A professional website helps you: 🔹Establish expertise 🔹Share perspectives 🔹Build identity 🔹Test ideas 🔹Build credibility 🔹Establish niche authority 🔹Share updates and insights from the industry A portfolio helps you: 🔹Show your skills in practice - 🔹Share case studies and success stories - 🔹Highlight your problem-solving abilities 🔹Showcase what you can do with what you've learned. 🔹Share testimonials A social media presence helps you: 🔹Showcase your unique personality 🔹Build relationships 🔹Build a personal brand 🔹Expand your professional network and opportunities 🔹Connect and engage with your audience in your unique voice The exercise on brand building requires me to build a professional website from scratch, which I'll start this week using WordPress. I welcome your tips on building an outstanding website! The goal isn't just to have a website; it is to rank for a keyword, possibly 'SEO Product Manager' - a good challenge 💪 The session's highlight was our discussion on niching down in brand building. So, I attended a webinar where the speaker suggested one to three years isn't enough time to specialize; instead, it may take five years to: 🔹Test various skills 🔹Work with different industries 🔹Determine strengths and interests 🔹Identify likes and dislikes in a field/role However, my mentor believes that niching down depends on individual goals and perspective. If you're clear about your desired specialty, you can focus on it immediately. Otherwise, you can explore other areas as long as you're gaining experience. Niching down can occur whenever you feel ready. Well, I think you can discover your niche while starting. For instance, in digital marketing, you can start with SEO or content marketing in your first year and explore related fields. With time, you build specialized experience faster. What are your thoughts? 🔹 When should someone niche down: 1 year, 2, or 3 years? 🔹Do you have a niche? 🔹If yes, how did you discover it? I'll be in the comment section. I am grateful for the opportunity to learn. Thank you, The Freelance Coalition For Developing Countries and SE Ranking, for making these mentorship sessions possible.🙇 ________________________________________ I'm Chioma Anunobi, an SEO content writer for tech brands, upskilling in Tech SEO and product management. Social + Content Strategist for B2B SaaS Companies || Creating High-Quality Content for B2B brands 🚀|| I help Brands and Creators Win Online.
Joining The Freelance Coalition For Developing Countries has honestly been one of the best decisions this year. It’s a community of marketers that feels welcoming and truly supportive. Every week, I have a call with Crystal Nyarko A. where she shares practical tips, ideas, and guidance that are always so helpful. As someone who’s been primarily working with organic marketing, I’m now upskilling and learning about paid ads marketing, and she's been helping with resources, and templates to make the journey easy. If you’re looking for a community that helps you grow, I can’t recommend The Freelance Coalition For Developing Countries enough. Finding a community like this is something I wish I had when I was starting out, and now, it’s something I truly value. Big thanks to chima mmeje🏳️🌈 and jadesola kareem for creating such a supportive space.

📌 Gratitude is all I have for Sir Sodiq A., who has been the best mentor anyone could ask for. When we're in a session, I feel like I'm chatting with my elder brother. The way you make me comfortable, and allow me to share my thoughts, is amazing. Your patience with me is remarkable, especially considering the recent network issues that disrupts our sessions. 🤲 We keep rescheduling, and you keep showing up, finding alternative solutions and sending resources to help me learn better. I really appreciate you, Sir Sodiq, but I can't take this glory because you deserve your crown. For giving me space to thrive, helping me sharpen my skills, including storytelling and ensuring I become a better professional in the industry. Your encouragement and confidence boost helps me overcome imposter syndrome. I'm grateful to have crossed paths with you this year. 🙇 I appreciate communities like The Freelance Coalition For Developing Countries, which create such opportunities to learn and grow. Also, SE Ranking, which sponsors impactful opportunities. None of this would be possible without selfless individuals and brands supporting community growth. We're five weeks into our journey, and I'm feeling emotional because I don't want our sessions to end. Now, I always want to look forward to mentorship sessions. 😩 You deserve better opportunities, Sir Sodiq, and I wish your smile never fades. You are all shades of amazing. ✨ I'm grateful for the opportunity to learn, and I pray that more sponsors will support such opportunities for its sustainability.
It’s Chioma. Not me! The first time Chioma Anunobi posted about her mentorship story is going with me, a leader reached out to me to praise me for the work I’m doing with her. Yesterday, I received another call from a well respected thought leader, thanking and encouraging me for a job well done. People, It’s Chioma. Not me. Chioma has been doing this amazing job herself. Constantly following up with me and being super patient whenever I postpone our calls. She’s dedicated, smart, ultra focused and open to learning new techniques. She’s implemented many of the playbooks I shared with her. Besides, Chioma’s storytelling has opened doors for me too. I’ve had 4+ people reached out to me to mentor them, all because Chioma writes about me. I couldn't take the 4, I took 2, despite my stretched time. One of these persons offered to make her company pay me for the mentorship program, but I declined the payment. I’ll do it completely gratis. “Why, Sodiq”, you asked. I received all free. People and communities made me. The Freelance Coalition For Developing Countries especially. And I’ll always be grateful for that. Giving back is a must for me. To communities. To people. And particularly to the underdogs in underserved communities. My communities. I will continue to give back to them.

Although I'm more than a month late 🙈 I had the pleasure of speaking at The Freelance Coalition For Developing Countries marketing meetup on September 14th, 2024! I'm mostly shy and reserved, so this was wayyyy out of my comfort zone, but a time was had. I spoke about AI in marketing and how marketers have been using AI for more than 20 years now (Think: Analytics). Generative AI, however, has empowered everyone to use and play with AI, putting it at the forefront. I shared the importance of prompting and how to craft effective prompts. I also touched on how marketers create GPTs for different use cases, from editing to SEO optimization. It was exciting to teach what I know, and the feedback was terrific. It was also fun meeting everyone! Thank you, The Freelance Coalition For Developing Countries. I'd love to do this again. Speaking allowed me to share my passion and fascination with the technology driving this AI change, making it possible for everyone to become creative in their own right. We've only touched the surface, and that's interesting. Till next time, happy prompting 🤪 📷 Photo credit: Stella Inabo
