The National Cyber Security Centre has highlighted the importance of #CyberEssentials certification as a proactive measure to safeguard clients, barristers, and the integrity of chamber networks due to the increasing cyber threats faced by law firms and chambers. The Funded Cyber Essentials Programme has been expanded into specific areas within the legal sector until the end of March. It is open to all registered barristers or advocates and recognised barristers' chambers or advocates’ stables that meet the eligibility criteria. In today's digital world, cyber attacks are no longer a question of 'if' but 'when'. As hostile actors and criminal groups increasingly target UK businesses, protecting organisations isn't just about security – it's about ensuring future success and growth. Effectively communicating cyber risk management for businesses is therefore crucial. To support this, the National Cyber Security Centre is promoting the government-backed Cyber Essentials’ scheme. Most cyber attacks are basic - the digital equivalent of a thief trying your front door to see if it’s unlocked. Cyber Essentials offers you a clear pathway to better security, helping you to bolt your organisation's door. The government-backed scheme is a highly effective set of five, foundational cyber security controls which organisations should have in place to protect themselves, as well as other organisations in their network, from the vast majority of common cyber attacks. Being certified can also help you win and retain business by allowing you to bid for government contracts. With 69% of businesses who hold Cyber Essentials saying that it has increased their market competitiveness, it really should be a no brainer to get certified. It’s a very effective tool – organisations with the certification are 92% less likely to make a claim on their cyber insurance than those without a certification.   To find out more about the certification, and the opportunities that having Cyber Essentials could create for your business, visit the National Cyber Security Centre’s dedicated page for a full range of useful tools and advice. Make sure Cyber Essentials is part of your business essentials.    #CyberEssentials
