The OpenFOAM® Foundation is a UK not-for-profit organisation and is the copyright holder (i.e. owner) of the OpenFOAM software, whose specific purpose is to manage the development of OpenFOAM and distribute it free and open source to the public only under the GNU general public licence (GPL). The Foundation has a Board of Directors that currently includes Henry Weller (creator and architect of OpenFOAM), Chris Greenshields and Brendan Bouffler.
