The Risk Bites (R) Club is aimed at professionals who have to consider risk issues in their day-to-day work- whether that be as partner/director responsible for risk, as a member of the risk and compliance team in a professional firm, or as a fee earner or support member in professional practice who needs an awareness of risk issues in order to better perform their roles and meet client expectations. Membership of the Club is free and entitles members to access to monthly training on topical and relevant matters. Members can also access a risk helpline, (an annual charge is made for the helpline) for practical assistance on risk issues. Training is regular- the second Tuesday of the month, 1pm-2pm- half an hour of formal training (with case studies, practical tips and take aways) followed by half an hour for discussion on issues facing members. Thank you to everyone who attended today's The RiskBites(R) Club session, and a special thank you to Gary Yantin from Lexverify for joining us as a guest speaker and demonstrating how technology can transform risk management and prevent risks in real-time.   In today’s session, we discussed:   🔍 How risks are often driven by human error and electronic communications.   🛡️ Shifting the focus from protection (reactive) to prevention (proactive) through technology—while keeping humans in the loop. Lexverify can immediately flag actions that might lead to a breach and provide that crucial nudge to stop a risk from materialising.   📊 The importance of collecting and leveraging data to pinpoint where the risks are in your business, assess if your policies, training, and controls are achieving their desired outcomes, and identify where improvements or further investment are needed.   If you couldn’t attend the session and want to find out more, a copy of the slides and recording will be available on our website soon, or you can request a copy to be sent to you directly. You can also contact Gary if you would like an in-depth demo, as there wasn’t time within the session to cover all that Lexverify can do!   If you have any feedback on the session or if there’s a topic you’d like us to cover, please get in touch or comment below. We love seeing new faces at our sessions, so please recommend us to anyone who might be interested.   Looking forward to seeing you at our next The RiskBites(R) Club session at 1 pm on Tuesday, 8 October.   Karen Eckstein Polly Coram Karen Eckstein Limited   #riskmanagement #traininganddevelopment #risktech

❗Two hours until our next The RiskBites(R) Club session❗ Join us at 1pm on Tuesday 9 July for a session on Disclosure to Third Parties. Karen Eckstein will be discussing how, if not carefully managed, professionals can be exposing themselves to unnecessary risks if they respond to requests for information from third parties or if they allow information they have prepared to be disclosed and relied upon by third parties (and often for a different purpose to that originally intended). Such requests could be from HMRC, the client’s bank or funder, or from a regulator. This area can be a minefield and Karen will be exploring how professionals can ensure they are protected while also helping their clients respond to disclosure requests. Join us at 1pm on Tuesday 9 July by clicking the TEAMs link here: https://lnkd.in/e_BiirWE Looking forward to seeing you there! #risk #riskmanagement #professionalservices #disclosure #learninganddevelopment
