  • Today, we proudly commemorate the 360th anniversary of the Royal Marines, reflecting on the remarkable history and enduring legacy of one of the world's most respected military forces. Over the centuries, Royal Marines have consistently demonstrated unparalleled bravery, resilience, and an unwavering commitment to duty, often facing extraordinary challenges in the service of our nation. These men and women operate in the most demanding and hostile environments, where their courage, discipline, and dedication to protecting our freedoms are truly tested. Their service and sacrifice, both at home and abroad, stand as a testament to their steadfast loyalty to the United Kingdom. At the Royal Navy and Royal Marines Charity, we recognise that the strength of these extraordinary individuals is bolstered by the support of their families and communities. As we celebrate this significant milestone, we remain dedicated to ensuring that both the Royal Marines and their loved ones receive the vital support they deserve, now and for generations to come. Here’s to 360 years of exemplary service and unparalleled bravery. #RoyalMarines360

  • Congratulations to Leading Hand Chef Ben Radford on completing the Bank of America Chicago Marathon on 13 October, in memory of his father, former Royal Marine Steve Matthews. Ben finished his first marathon in 4 hours and 31 minutes—an impressive time for such a meaningful challenge. Steve, who passed away in 2022 after a battle with cancer, had planned to run the Chicago Marathon himself. In tribute, Ben took on the race to honour his father’s dream and raise funds for the Royal Navy & Royal Marines Charity (RNRMC), which provides vital support to serving personnel, veterans, and their families. Ben’s accomplishment is a powerful reminder of the enduring bond between family and service, and the importance of charities like RNRMC in supporting our community. Well done, Ben! 💙

  • Through funding from the Armed Forces Covenant Fund Trust, the Royal Navy & Royal Marines Charity is working with KIDS to provide comprehensive support for RN/RM serving personnel, spouses, partners and families living with SEND, and in particular, neurodiversity. Royal Navy and Royal Marines families come in all shapes, sizes and forms – they could have a parent living 300 miles away, or a spouse living away from a base port, juggling being a single parent and a career whilst their serving partner is deployed. KIDS has developed their support, and we are delighted to share two new opportunities for people to come together online, share experiences if they want to, make friends and get further support. Surg Rear Admiral Fleur Marshall reached out to share her determination after the disappointment of the Great South Run being cancelled. Instead of letting it get her down, she completed a 10-mile run along the Meon Valley Trail to keep her promise to her sponsors. Her husband, Cdre Dean Bassett (Rtd), joined her for the run. Thank you, Fleur, for your incredible dedication and perseverance! 🏃♀️🏅

Traditionally reserved for officers, this year’s event included both Junior and Senior Rates, recognising exceptional contributions from across the Royal Navy.
