  • A celebration of strength, precision, and determination, all brought to life on the tip of a needle. Dr Willard WIgan MBE is thrilled to unveil one of his latest microscopic creations: Eddie Small breaking out of the Eye of a Needle. 🏋️🥇💪 Inspired by Eddie Hall’s iconic 2016 deadlift of 500kg at the Giants Live Europe’s Strongest Man, and his historic win at the 2017 World’s Strongest Man, ending Britain’s 24-year wait for a champion, this piece captures the raw power and resilience that defined Eddie’s journey. 💪 This microscopic masterpiece shows “Eddie Small” breaking free from a needle, sporting Hall's signature hairstyle and wearing 24-carat gold chains. I painstakingly painted his tattoos using a tiny brush I crafted from a single hair. Each intricate detail took countless hours of focus and dedication, as I worked to capture the true essence of strength and perseverance. 🏋️ Inspired by the story of Samson, a man of legendary strength, Eddie Small symbolises the power of pushing beyond limitations. Strength isn’t just physical - it’s mental, emotional, and spiritual. It’s about setting a goal, having a purpose, and working relentlessly toward it. Whether you're competing to be the World’s Strongest Man or trying to become the next world’s greatest micro-sculptor, it demands grit, perseverance, and an unwavering commitment. 💪 Achieving greatness isn’t instant. It’s built step by step, hour by hour. Every goal - whether it’s lifting weights or crafting art under a microscope - starts with small actions. As motivational speaker, Jim Rohn said: “Let others lead small lives, but not you. Let others argue over small things, but not you. Let others cry over small hurts, but not you.” Only you can drive yourself to greatness, breaking free of the chains that hold you back. Dream big, set goals, and be unstoppable. 💪 Thanks, Willard Wigan & Brian Fretwell Team Willard Wigan Art #microsculpture #art #sculpture #Goals #TheWiganFoundation

Buglife unwavering dedication to protecting these incredible creatures is truly inspiring. We're very proud to announce that we've been working in partnership with Canary Wharf Group to launch a first-of-its-kind, urban oasis in the heart of the Wharf. The green haven, named Eden Dock, will have a significant positive impact on biodiversity, creating more opportunities for people to connect with nature. Cities face unprecedented challenges in balancing growth while protecting the environment. By 2050, 70% of the world’s population is expected to live in cities. Over the last five decades wildlife populations have fallen by 69%. If biodiversity loss is to be tackled, cities need to be part of the solution. Eden Dock is a blueprint for biodiversity and habitat gain for cities around the world. To mark the launch, a living artwork, Nature Rising features over 20 living figures made of ligustrum – a flowering shrub – dotted around the dock.

This World Gorilla Day, we’re counting on increasing numbers! 🦍 Back in 2018, the Bwindi-Sarambwe Mountain Gorilla Census recorded 1,063 mountain gorillas worldwide. 🌎 Now, six years later, it's time for a recount! How are the populations doing today? 🔍 During the count, teams will be deployed into mountain gorilla habitat to search for signs of activity for two weeks at a time. The full ‘sweep’ is expected to take around 2 months to complete. “We hope to see an increase in the number of mountain gorillas and the number of other mammals in the gorilla habitat” - Jean Paul Hirwa, Deputy Director of International Gorilla Conservation Programme #WorldGorillaDay #Gorilla #Conservation
