United Guilds Service On Friday, March 28th, the livery companies of London assembled at St Paul’s Cathedral for the United Guilds service to worship the saviour and redeemer of humankind, our Lord Christ Jesus. The Engineers’ company were well represented with our Master, Past Masters, Wardens, Clerk and Liverymen in attendance. It was an impressive and moving ceremony conducted with wit and thought by the Dean of Southwark, who reminded us of the centrality of the Christian notion of covenant to a meaningful life. The choir was exemplary and showed the very best of the Anglican choral tradition in their singing. Our souls suitably nourished, thoughts turned to our stomachs, and the Painters and Stainers served up arancini, rack of lamb and trifle in pleasant surroundings. They are an agreeable lot, the Painters, and got each company there to shout out when their names were called. It’s fair to say we were in fine voice. The ceremony is a touching and significant event that binds our company with its underpinning Christian faith through an act of collective worship. If you have the time next year, please participate; it’s worthy of your attention. The grub’s not bad, either. Words by Liveryman Simon Jones

Visit to Treloar's College Livery Relationship Manager Nicola Doran led a tour of Treloar's College by the Master and members of the Company on 13 March. Treloar’s Principal and CEO Martin Ingram welcomed us and thanked us for our support. Of particular interest to the Company was seeing first-hand how engineering is assisting the young people at Treloar’s to communicate and interact through technology and so build their skills and confidence for the future. Treloar’s team in the Assistive Technology Dept, led by Dean Hall, adapt and/or design bespoke tools for each student according to their needs.

🌟It was an Honour to Attend an Exclusive IET Future Talent Award Scholars Event🌟 Last Friday, I had the incredible opportunity to network with passionate engineering students, apprentices, and experienced professionals from across the country. Meeting Cdr Peter Gracey CEng MIET FIRSE RN and Barry Brooks from the The Worshipful Company of Engineers , my generous scholarship donors, was particularly special. The day was filled with inspiring sessions: - Introduction to the IET: Professional accreditations and volunteering opportunities. - Masterclass on Effective Communication: Networking, rhetoric, and negotiation tips from Mark Goudie - Time and Priority Management: Valuable lessons, especially relevant for my degree apprenticeship journey. The afternoon was truly inspirational, hearing stories from former Future Talent recipient Wilfred Y., senior structural engineer Zainab Adigun, and content creator, adventurer, and disability advocate Nick Wilson. I'm excited to grow both personally and professionally with the support of the IET and the Worshipful Company of Engineers. A big thank you to Tanya Spencer Spencer and Amy Ktori for their dedication to the Future Talent Awards.

I'm honored to have attended the Institution of Engineering and Technology (IET) Future Talent Award Scholars Event last Friday. It was a pleasure meeting Barry Brooks and Cdr Peter Gracey CEng MIET FIRSE RN from my scholarship donors The Worshipful Company of Engineers, as well as connecting with fellow acholars during the networking sessions. The day's program was both informative and engaging. I particularly enjoyed Mark Goudie's effective communication masterclass, which featured detailed discussions on rhetoric and negotiation techniques. The afternoon sessions were equally inspiring, with compelling talks from past scholars and accomplished engineers sharing their experiences. A sincere thank you to the IET and the Engineers Trust for this incredible opportunity! #Engineering #Scholarship

✨I got a scholarship ✨ I was recently awarded one of the Institution of Engineering and Technology (IET)‘s Future Talent Awards. I am honored to be sponsored by The Worshipful Company of Engineers. This means that I get a member of the livery as a mentor, in addition to the professional development support offered by the IET. It was great to talk to Barry Brooks and Cdr Peter Gracey CEng MIET FIRSE RN and learn about the livery and its history. Last week, I got to celebrate my achievement at the Savoy Place. It was a fun day filled with networking, workshops and inspirational talks. My favourite part was hearing from Nick Wilson, who talked about how engineering has benefited him as a wheelchair user in his daily life. As well as how it has helped accomplish great things, like reaching the highest point on Yr Wyddfa. I also enjoyed hearing from previous scholars, Jody Nwaelene and Wilfred Yates, talk about their experiences as engineering students and how their scholarship benefited them. I can’t wait to see where this opportunity takes me! #FutureTalentAward
