Excellent work #BFO team - Bristol looking beautiful on screen yet again👌 🎬
Agatha Christie fans - prepare to embark on a brand new mystery as #TowardsZero arrives this Sunday on BBC One & iPlayer, after filming on location in Bristol with our support, and on the beautiful Devon coast. With our help, producers Mammoth Screen transformed Frog Lane in the city centre into a busy 1930's London street, and the nave of Bristol Cathedral into the exterior for Westminster’s Royal Courts Of Justice. Other locations that feature include the Masonic Hall near Park Street, University of Bristol’s Goldney Hall and the spectacular Tyntesfield House on the outskirts of the city. More about Bristol and Devon filming locations and how they feature, plus some stunning shots of Bristol as a film set, in our article here: https://lnkd.in/euPGNJGT All images courtesy of Mammoth Screen/BBC - with Bristol UNESCO City of Film - Bristol City Council - Visit West - Filming in England - Screen Devon

Now there's a headline we can get on board with - GO BRISTOL! Fascinating insights in this report, and so good to see the importance of filming infrastructure being highlighted as one of the key reasons behind the growth of Bristol's screen sector: "Together with the activities of the Bristol Film Office, The Bottle Yard Studios have spurred a raft of new drama investment in Bristol, from ‘The Outlaws' to ‘Alex Rider’." #filmedinBristol #madeinBristol #regional #production
"Move over Hollywood: Bristol, Glasgow & Cardiff Lead the Film & Television Revolution" 👏👏👏 A new report from Pact & COBA highlights Bristol, Cardiff and Glasgow as the "3 key regional screen sector clusters" to have delivered "highly significant levels of economic growth and created thousands of skilled jobs in film and TV" since 2016. The study examines the evolving shape of production and commissioning in each city, looking at value chains, job impact, milestones in growth and prominent genres. It's so refreshing to see a detailed study that highlights the importance of the leading out-of-London hubs to the UK GVA and takes a proper look at each city's "mixed commissioning and production ecology". Some headlines: 📌 Bristol, Cardiff, and Glasgow clusters jointly contributed a massive £1.95bn to the UK economy in 2022, and are attracting highly sought after content investment, with an average 8% YoY increase. 📌 Bristol’s screen sector nearly doubled in size between 2016 and 2022, growing by a massive 98%, with total GVA contribution rising from an est. £256 million to £506 million. Cardiff and Glasgow grew by 52% and 42% respectively. The number of jobs in the three regions grew by 70% over the same period to 19,200. 📌 While each city has a genre specialism it's best known for (Natural History in Bristol's case), they have are all expanding into other genres (in Bristol's case, high-end drama). Hours of drama produced in Bristol almost doubled between 2016 and 2022, from 25 to 45 hours, with the value rising from £59 million to £122 million, mostly driven by increased SVOD and multichannel commissioning. #Bristol #film #TV #regional #growth #screensector - Bristol City Council - Invest Bristol & Bath - West of England Mayoral Combined Authority - The Bottle Yard Studios - Bristol Film Office - #BBCNHU - Aardman - Plimsoll - Off the Fence - SILVERBACK FILMS - Natalie Moore - Steve Presence - Andrew Spicer - Stephanie Marshall - #Bristolcityoffilm Press release and link to the full report ⤵️ https://lnkd.in/eASDpFvS
