🔔 Update on Martyn's Law (Terrorism (Protection of Premises) Bill 2024) 🔔 As the Security Industry Authority SIA is confirmed to be the regulator for Protect Duty, former UKCMA Chair, Eric Stuart QPM shared his concerns: “That's a huge training requirement for their staff, and hopefully matched with a similarly huge uplift and budget in their staffing. Now, will the government find the budget to pay for what they are proposing?” 👉 https://lnkd.in/ezyKQcSS Key Points: 👉 Tiered system: Standard duty for smaller venues, enhanced duty for larger/high-risk premises 👉 Risk mitigation & planning: Venues must assess and prepare for terrorist threats 👉 Training & awareness: Staff training and basic security measures required for all 👉 Enhanced security for large venues: Large premises must collaborate with security services and adopt advanced security strategies Read the newly published documents, here 👉 https://lnkd.in/eGFpFFsk #MartynsLaw #ProtectDuty #CrowdManagement #UKCMA #TerrorismPreparedness #Security #SafetyFirst #CrowdManagement #Crowds #Events #CrowdProfs #EventProfs #GlobalCrowds

🚨 Lessons Learned from Recent Riots: A Success Story from Merseyside Fire and Rescue Service 🚨 In a recent article, Merseyside Chief Fire Officer Phil Garrigan shared how the lessons learned from past incidents, like the Manchester Arena bombing, have significantly improved the emergency response to the tragic knife attacks and subsequent riots in Southport. The effective collaboration between fire, ambulance, and police services ensured a quick, assertive, and coordinated response, helping to protect lives and minimise further harm. “Our response is based on the principles that we train together with ambulance and with the police. We really see the benefit of applying the JESIP principles, particularly co-location at major incidents like this.” This preparedness and teamwork are essential in responding to such challenging situations. You can read the full article to learn more about the heroic efforts and lessons from Merseyside's response here: https://lnkd.in/e_M7WZEU 🛠️ Riot Compensation: Information for Affected Businesses 🛠️ Did you know?
